This is a review for dental clinics near S Congress Ave, Lake Worth Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida:

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Lam’s office for 5-7 years, and I’ve always had positive experiences. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been less than satisfactory. For the past couple of appointments, I saw a different doctor in the office, who I hadn’t seen before. I explained my concern about a gap that was forming in the front of my teeth and told her that my top retainer had chipped and the wire was crooked. I asked if getting a new retainer or tray would help, since my old wire retainer isn’t commonly made anymore since I had them from when I had braces over 14 years ago. She assured me it would help, saying it would cover all my teeth and should address the issue. After paying almost $400 for new trays and wearing them for a few days, I noticed that the gap actually got worse. With my old wire retainer, it would start tight and loosen up throughout the day, but the new tray seemed to do the opposite. I called in a panic and requested to see her again, hoping to figure out why the new retainer wasn’t working as expected. When I saw her, she told me that my teeth were shaped oddly, which was causing the gap, I had a “black triangle” and that I would now need Invisalign to fix it. I was shocked, especially since I had just been in a few days prior and was told the new retainer would solve the problem. While I was open to the idea of Invisalign, I was frustrated because I had already spent $400 on the trays, which didn’t help. I specifically explained the issue to her when I came in, asking if a new retainer would fix it. She also didn’t mention that Invisalign might be necessary. After consulting with my orthodontist from 14 years ago, he confirmed what she said, but also agreed that no new retainer would have fixed the issue, and this should’ve been communicated to me earlier. He offered Invisalign/ braces at a price that was less than half of what the office had quoted me, and that price included new retainers after the treatment. I called the office to requesting for a refund for the trays given what had happened and returning them to the office, as it had been less than a week since I had received them. The front desk staff was very kind and said they would speak with the doctor. When I heard back, she explained that she wished I had mentioned my concerns earlier and told me that she couldn’t offer a refund because the trays had already been made. Instead, she offered me another set of trays if I moved forward with Invisalign through their office. However, since I had already received a more affordable quote from my orthodontist, I wasn’t interested in that offer. It’s disappointing to have to part ways with a practice I trusted, especially when it feels like money was prioritized over my actual needs. I still don’t understand why Invisalign wasn’t mentioned as an option when I first came in. I’m left with a $400 set of retainers I used for a couple of days and overall, I feel let down by the experience.

Dental Arts of Atlantis exceeded my expectations! I went there for a second opinion on dental needs and was pleasantly surprised that none of the work was needed. Dr. Lam was very pleasant, professional, informative and thorough. Her entire staff was helpful and eager to meet my every need. I left the office very comfortable. My entire family has transferred all our dental needs to Dr. Lam.
