I’m transferring in records to UDA as a new patient. Called my last dentist office and made sure they sent it; they checked and said it was sent May 28. At UDA front desk said they didn’t receive it. Same thing happened with my daughter earlier this year, later they found out in Spam folder or somewhere else. Today the front desk person (didn’t give me her real name till the end; she put the call on hold multiple times while I’m talking!) within a minute or two asked me to re-request the last dentist office to transfer it again. So I asked her to check again or call them; her response was “you call, I’m leaving soon and have no time…. . have other patients”. She put the phone on hold between conversations (very rude manners).
She didn’t care about me being a new patient and tried to cut the conversation short. I didn’t hang up so she came back and repeated the same and put me on hold. I tried calling her supervisor in another line. While that person talking she came in the phone and started talking introducing herself as the supervisor and denied her response about “I’m leaving soon”. Instead she reframed it saying she said she was busy and have other patients to assist (changed her version of saying have to leave soon). I introduced myself as new patient and this is how I get greeted even before my first visit. I am as a principal insurance had already made appointments here for my daughter and husband earlier this year. Now it’s my turn I’m in doubt if I should go there at all with such mismanagement. I remember she behaved the same in January while I was dealing with my daughter’s appointment.
She basically made the last dentist office do their job twice and the new patient ( me) twice, whereas she didn’t look for it rather while we are on phone the old dentist transferred by email and she sees and says “I got it”!! The same scenes from January got repeated today! After this incident, I read google reviews and found complaints about her. Btw her name is Keisha. She didn’t disclose her name when I asked her first time and said her name is “Y”. However when I called the supervisor’s line and she cut in during the conversation in that line, I asked again then she said “Keisha”. There are complains in her name I just now found out. Too bad that our family may not be visiting them in future and our relatives/friends/neightbors live nearby; they wouldn’t too.

I was not going to share a review because I know there is a new practice manager on site, trying to whip this place into shape. However my final line item was the final straw. I have been trying to come here for the past 5 years and it has never been a good experience. The staff is nice, once you get a hold of them. However the absolute lack of professionalism and communication is unacceptable. Here are three of my five last experiences. 1 - Appointment for a cavity requested. Arrived to discover they booked me as a cleaning appointment. Lost PTO because of the office's ability to listen. 2- Booked an appointment. Was confirmed for the appointment. Took a morning off for this appointment. Arrived only to discover the office was completely closed that day. I never received any communication about rescheduling. 3 - Finally was able to correctly book an appointment for both a cleaning AND a cavity.
I arrived to the appointment on time and waited for 45 minutes before finally pointing out that my first appointment slot had come and gone. Apparently the hygienist who was supposed to take me back went on break and was watching videos in the back room. (???) I was then informed that I could pick between the cavity or the cleaning since there wasn't enough time to do both. This was unnacceptable. I've now lost almost 2 days of PTO trying to get seen. They are wasting my time and have the nerve to try to try to blame it on me. I ended up explaining my case to the new practice manager. He told me he's working on things and whipping the office into shape. This was back in March and I left things as they were without a review. I had hoped to see improvement. I wished him luck but told him after multiple years of giving chances, I was done with this practice. Well strike one after that was it took 3 weeks, multiple emails and followups to get a hold of my records. I had filled all of the paperwork out on site and had been told I'd receive them same day. Strike two was my insurance. They took my card at my appointment and somehow didn't update it, so I had to call (3 times, since people don't answer the phone here or give call backs!) to get it updated again.
Strike three led me here. I finally had my first appointment with a different practice. Immediately upon viewing the xrays sent their way, they told me I had an enormous cavity/cracked filling. I asked how they knew and they showed me a picture of a very visible and obvious issue. I am not a dentist and even *I* could see the problem immediately without training. I can forgive awful office policies. I can forgive slow callbacks. I can hope for change in those respects. But when I am going and paying for medical services and NOT receiving those, that is completely unacceptable. How did I make it to the last appointment, have a giant visible issue and not a single clinician commented on it? There's incompetence in the office and then there's neglicence on behalf of the people who should be practicing dentistry. If you can't at least offer good medical care after dodging all of the poorly trained office obstacles, what the hell is the point? Anyway, hard pass. This place hopefully will get itself together, but until then, they're impossible to reach, bad at scheduling, bad at filing and apparently can't even do the basic dental appraisal well.
