Established in 1988 by Dr. Wendell Riggs, with support from St. Elizabeth Medical Center and community members, the organization initially began as a part-time prenatal and well-child clinic to serve uninsured and underinsured children and their families in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. Over the years, it has expanded significantly, now serving over 20,000 patients across a 10-county region, including Lafayette, Lebanon, and Frankfort, with over 70,000 patient visits annually. These include essential procedures such as cleanings, extractions, and fillings. I hadn't been to the dentist in several years due to a lack of insurance. I was very nervous about going in and being judged. In addition, I wasn't sure about Riggs, as it is a community dental clinic. I was pleasantly surprised! Everyone at Riggs Dental Clinic was kind, welcoming, non judgmental, and incredibly helpful. I had to have several procedures, and in the process, I had some complications, which resulted in dry socket.

Dr. Chen was able to squeeze me in to look at it and followed up with me a few days later with a phone call. Dr. Chen is friendly, kind, and really cares about her patients. She also uses her professional knowledge to take the time to educates the assistants and the patients as to the procedures she's completing as well as the options that are available.

I have been fortunate to have had good dentists in the past, but Dr. Chen and the entire staff at Riggs are the best I have ever had the privilege to work with. I would highly recommend Dr. Chen and Riggs Dental Clinic as we are very fortunate to have this amazing resource in our community.

Videos to Cure Boredom

The dental center is clean and comfortable. As the first time patient, I got the same day appointment and got the toothache taken care of. The assistant Maria is extremely nice and considerate, she makes sure I understand every step and feel OK . Doctor Chen is very experienced and gives good suggestions for the possible solutions. I am very glad that my dental needs can be taken care of by them.

Riggs Community Dental Center is Completely and Utterly Outstanding!:! The building is very clean and the staff is Extremely nice and communicative!:! I didn’t have an appointment scheduled so… thank God they take walk-Ins!:! I got there at 8am today 11/14/2023 filled out my first patient paperwork and they Got me in and Extracted My Zombified Rusty Tooth and all by 10am!:! Dr. Zhang and Nurse Bibianna were my practice professionals and they are phenomenal!:! They made me very comfortable and made sure I knew what was going on every step of the way!:! PS.

. This IS a real dental clinic for all of the haters out there!:!

Took my son for his first dental appointment there and we were in and out in 20 min. Super fast and everyone was extremely friendly. Called on a Thursday and got in by the following Monday. I was dreading the first appointment but the staff worked wonders with him and answered all my questions without me feeling rushed.
