The entire Staff here is wonderful!!! I had the Blessing today to have Kenia ad my Dental Assistant. She's AMAZING! She made sure I was comfortable and felt safe during my entire root canal. She helped me walk for an xray in the middle of the procedure, kept asking through the whole time if I was ok. Dr Austen was as great as ever.

A couple of years ago, I visited Pioneer Dental to have a chipped tooth repaired. At that time, the exam was free, and since I had no insurance, I paid $300 for the treatment itself, which took only about five minutes. Recently, I experienced the same issue with the same tooth and now have insurance. I contacted Pioneer Dental to inquire about coverage.
They informed me that they work with out-of-network insurance but would not provide a formal pre-treatment estimate. Instead, they require me to pay nearly $250–$300 for an exam before they can determine how they will proceed with fixing the tooth. After the exam, I would need to send the receipt and treatment plan to my insurance to find out what they will cover. My insurance specifically stated that they prefer to receive a formal pre-treatment estimate to ensure proper coverage.
This process with Pioneer Dental feels like a scam, especially considering other reviews that highlight similar concerns about their lack of transparency and focus on extracting payments. It’s very frustrating to be asked to pay a substantial upfront fee just to get an estimate of coverage, rather than being able to plan treatment with clarity beforehand.

I had an infection on a tooth that has a root canal done. I called the office to get in for an emergency appointment and they fit me right in. Dr. Baugh is the best guy, he’s funny, and really informative with his patients— always makes me comfortable each time I visit. Without a doubt they are the best!
