About

Aspen Dental is a dental support organization (DSO) with a nationwide network of independently owned and operated dental clinics. It offers a wide range of dental services, from routine checkups and cleanings to dentures, implants, and emergency care. Aspen Dental aims to make dental care accessible and affordable by handling administrative and business aspects for dentists, allowing them to focus on patient care. While they've received positive patient reviews for convenient and comprehensive care, they've also faced scrutiny regarding billing practices and upselling.
Aspen Dental, officially known as Aspen Dental Management, Inc. (ADMI), is a large-scale dental support organization (DSO) that provides comprehensive non-clinical support to a nationwide network of dental practices. Rather than a single entity that directly provides dental care, it's a company that manages the business, marketing, and operational aspects for independently owned and operated dental practices that use the Aspen Dental brand. This model allows dentists to focus solely on clinical care, while the parent company handles the administrative burdens. Aspen Dental clinics offer a comprehensive suite of services. This includes general dental services such as exams, X-rays, cleanings, and fillings. The company has a notable focus on dentures and dental implants, with many locations having on-site labs for quicker service. They also provide clear aligners, emergency dental care, and various cosmetic dentistry options. The company's business model is centered on serving the large portion of the U.S. population that lacks a regular dentist. They often locate their practices in "dental deserts"—areas with a shortage of providers—to increase access to care for underserved communities. Aspen Dental also offers a dental savings plan to help make their services more affordable for patients without insurance. The company's approach has been praised for making dental care convenient and accessible, with some patients commending the ease of getting same-day appointments and the availability of a wide range of services under one roof. However, it has also faced scrutiny and criticism, including allegations of pressuring dentists to upsell patients on unnecessary treatments and concerns over aggressive billing practices. The Aspen Dental - Miami Gardens, FL location, like others in the network, operates under this model, providing services within the larger framework of the national brand.

"I had a fantastic experience at the Aspen Dental in Miami Gardens on April 24, 2025, for a dental cleaning. The office was clean and welcoming, and the front desk staff were very friendly and efficient. My dental hygienist, was thorough and gentle during the cleaning, and she provided helpful tips for my oral hygiene routine. My Doctor was also very kind and professional during my check-up, my implant and extraction.

The treatment plan and costs for future preventative care were explained clearly. I was seen on time, and the entire staff made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend this Aspen Dental location for their excellent service and friendly staff. "

I sent my mom here and they initially charged her $14K to get her teeth pulled and for a partial. Then, they updated their bill to $8K, that included charges for a root canal and crown, which they did not do. The bill finally landed at about $6k. They pulled 8 teeth. They cleaned her teeth, and my mom paid for a partial denture that she never received. My mom gave them her insurance card and a credit card for payment (note: they asked for this before they completed all the work). They told her that her insurance only covered "accidents. " and just didn't even try to run her credit card. They had something else in mind. . . . Don't be fooled by "payment plans that in my mom's case is 37% interest!" Most people can't afford $200/month for the rest of their lives.

After I complained to the State about what they had done, they called my mom and told her not to come back because I (her daughter) was suing them. That was a lie. I didn't sue them, I complained about what they had done (not look into her insurance and by not using her credit card) to the State. So, they retaliated against my mom for reporting them. They then sent my mom a letter saying that she refused service. That was also a lie. They lied about checking her insurance, they lied about providing services that my mom paid for in advance in a payment plan, and they possibly lied to the State and the insurance company, because I requested reimbursement from my mom's insurance. What a horrible way to treat an 87 year-old Black woman. I don't recommend this place. In fact, I've updated this review several times to reflect what is factually happening. ALL they needed to do was the right thing: give her dentures that she paid for!!!!!! What a horrible dentist to leave her this way! I scheduled an appointment on 8/8. Let's see if they turn her away. Their website guarantees dentures that will fit.

Well, they haven't given her that. Do what you say! If you provide my mom with GREAT service, the review will reflect that! This horrible saga continues. Do the right thing!!!!!!! She's 87 years old and lives on Social Security!!!!!!!!!!!!! Karma! This office and the people in it will eventually get what it deserves. Are you getting kick backs on the payment plans? My recommendation: No matter how much your teeth hurt, get a second opinion, go somewhere else. I don't recommend going here. . . . in fact, RUN! RUN far away from this place. And, have the guy there run the insurance. Have him prove to you that he's reached out to them. What a mess.
