About
Dr. Lawrence Harte is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia College, and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Harte received his orthodontic training at the Eastman Center at the University of Rochester. ``Dr. Larry`` chose orthodontics when, at the age of 20, he researched career aptitude selections. He read the following: likes to sculpt, loves kids, enjoys being involved with the community, and is very fussy. The answer was orthodontics! Says Dr. Larry, ``I am fortunate to have the opportunity to change people's lives. My ultimate goal is to have every patient leave our office with renewed confidence, a feeling of self-esteem from a great experience and, of course, an incredible smile.`` MEMBERSHIPS Dr. Harte is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He was a captain in the United States Air Force. Dr. Larry has lectured internationally and has written numerous scientific articles, which have appeared in a variety of professional publications. He is one of the pioneers in the treatment of patients in a caring and professional manner. He is a lecturer and a leader in the American Association of Orthodontics, a past President of the New Jersey Association of Orthodontics, and currently represents the profession in Washington, DC as a member of the Council on Governmental Affairs. Dr. Larry has also been Chairman of the Public Health Council of New Jersey, a prestigious position that deals with the health of all citizens of the state. PERSONAL LIFE Dr. Larry has three children: Jonathan, a physician, mountain climber and skier in Colorado; Helaine, a marketing major and triathlete; and Doug, a world-class sailor who is in practice with him. From a personal point of view, Dr. Larry has interests in cartooning, sculpting, and directing television shows. He is the founder of the Facial and Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New Jersey, is a National Geographic traveler and sailor, and enjoys writing poetry.
