I do not recommend this clinic to anyone. Schoonover obviously is more concerned about his money rather than his patients, extremely rude. . . This is to the response comment below that he made.

Let me just be a little more clear, I pulled myself from this clinic do to the rudeness and also the remarks over the phone during our conversation. I called in trying to get in whenever the next available appointment was not the same day, you said you had a cancellation which was still a few days away. I proceeded to tell you that was great but if for some reason I could not at all get someone for my child to be watched then I would call in and let you know. Your response to me was now I can not put you down if you can not guarantee your coming because this is my business and I need to make a living. Well one I have never in my life have had any type of office tell me o sorry I can't put you down, I have had o that's fine just give us a heads up if you can't make it not o no I won't put you down.

Okay, so that tells me your more worried about your money rather than your costumers. Also when you talk to me as if I am a child that's not okay. Hope all works out for you but you will no longer get any business from me.

Dr. Larry Schoonover DDS is an outstanding dentist. I have never had a dentist come close to the professionalism and care that he provided. My entire family uses his practice. I will recommend him to anyone. It is obvious that he is a skilled professional that cares about his patients and their well-being. He is my hometown dentist (I am fortunate in that regard). It would be worth the drive if you want TOP SHELF care . .

. for those that are not from Clendenin, WV. As a dental surgeon, Dr. Schoonover is exceptional. He recently handled the removal of my wife's teeth. He handled every step of the process like a superstar. I could not have asked for better care for the most important person in my life (my wife). He helped her navigate all of the emotional hurdles associated with loosing/replacing all of her teeth. He even got her to quit smoking (an unbelievable task).

I was especially impressed with the attention to detail he provided when fitting her for dentures. This was not "crappy teeth in a day. . . fast food service window" treatment, he took painstaking measures to properly size, align, color match, and ensure functional alignment. After the first fitting he made multiple minor adjustments to ensure a PERFECT FIT. I was truly impressed with his perfectionism and professionalism.

I am a Military wife, and a several time Cancer survivor. I have lived all over the United States and Japan and have been to some of the best dentists. Because of my Cancer treatments my teeth were in TERRIBLE shape. My husband and I followed our dream and moved to WV almost 5 years ago. I knew it was time to deal with the one thing that was inevitable, my teeth. I thank God that he put Dr. Larry Schoonover in my path to take me through the difficult process of replacing all of my teeth. Dr. Larry Schoonover was completely honest with me but yet had the most compassion and understanding of any dentist I have ever met. He sat with me and my husband for a very long time and answered any and every question that I had, he did not leave my side until I was completely ok with the process that I was about to undergo. He endured my tears and handed me tissues and waited patiently for me to be able to begin again. He knew the emotional trauma I was going to endure being a woman and having to go through this process, and knew how to handle that. Then surgery day came.

The staff was unbelievably kind and professional. Everyone was having their best day that day because Dr. Larry Schoonover would have it no other way. He took GREAT care to make sure that along every step, I had no pain. My comfort was his top priority. After surgery he wanted to see me 24 hours later, then 48 hours later. Any pain or discomfort I had, all I had to do was call and I was fit in immediately to relieve my pain. My interim dental plan is dentures, I am not a very old woman so it is extremely difficult for me to even write this in a public forum. However, I feel like if I can make this decision easier for any other person in this world by writing this then it will all be worth it. When I received my dentures 2 things happened. He made sure that I never left that office with no teeth (so important) and I could not believe the BEAUTIFUL smile Dr. Larry Schoonover had made for me! Every single person I know has told me they can't even tell! They all just think I got my teeth cleaned! Since that day I have had to have a few adjustments made for the comfort of my new smile. A phone call and they fit me in right away to make even the most minor adjustment.

I was also very careful to follow every rule he gave me so that I ensured myself success. I am going to take this to the next step and get implants done. I know that I could live comfortably with the amazing dentures that Dr. Larry Schoonover made for me but like I said I am a young woman so it is important to me to do a more permanent solution. I have to be honest, I don't think I would invest in the permanent solution if I hadn't found Dr. Larry Schoonover. He truly is the most thorough, professional, compassionate, and some times humorous dentist I have ever encountered. If you need a great dentist then do yourself a favor and choose the guy that actually teaches this around the country. His credentials are impressive. I live outside Clendenin, WV. I can't believe my luck or should I say fate that put the very best dentist to help me just a few miles from my door, I know I would have traveled hours to get this kind of care. I have never written a review this long or detailed but this is one of the most important things I have ever gone through and it went amazingly well! I want to shout that from the rooftops! Thank you Dr. Larry Schoonover, Kathy, Judy and all the rest of the staff for taking such good care of me!

I am 46 years old and Dr. Schoonover is the first dentist whom I believe really cares about the future of my teeth. I have never had a dentist be as thorough in determining the current health of my teeth and spend the time to talk with me about how to keep my teeth and gums as healthy as possible. With previous dentists, I would usually only talk with them for a few minutes per checkup.

I also give 5 stars to his staff as they are very friendly and professional. Highly recommend.
