I was having pretty intense tooth pain and was lucky enough to get squeezed in for an early morning appointment. Dr Smolen was patient and explained things fully. The whole team was generous and friendly. Blandine was especially kind and helpful throughout the whole experience.
Even though I ended up needing a referral for a root canal, Smiles on the Upper West was pleasant from start to finish. Deepest gratitude to everyone there.

After not having a dental cleaning in a few years, I was nervous about finding a new dentist. I specifically searched for a Black dentist in NYC with great reviews who accepted my insurance, and Dr. Massiah exceeded every expectation! Pleasant experience, Dr Massiah and all staff are professional and skilled. Every step of a routine teeth cleaning kept my comfort in the forefront, including nice background music and a refreshing mint mouthwash at the end.

Going to Dr. Massiah’s office is an amazing experience. The facility is very clean and welcoming. The entire staff, the doctors, hygienists and staff are all very experienced and professional. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted promptly and checked in expeditiously. They listen to your concerns and offer advice and suggestions on maintaining and improving your dental health. Dr. Massiah takes the time to evaluate and explain any treatment you may need.
I recently had a crown replaced and the entire process was done with care and professionalism. Dr. Massiah took the time to walk you the entire process. The gum site had to injected and I didn’t feel a thing. While completing the procedure, he explained exactly what he was doing. I have been to many dentists and Dr. Massiah and his team are the best I have experienced.
