This dental practice is the worst place period for dental work , they charged my husband for 3 root canals he only went in for a fill in they lied and said he needed more work then the root canals that they did were flawed he needed to have two teeth extracted now he is missing two teeth becuaee of this place and he is only 32 he is now having to get two implants someday in the amount of 8k there oral surgeon Dr.

Shalmi only cared about money did not care about fill ins only root canals so he can charge big bucks this place is a total scam beware of this place stay away at all costs its not worth it they will damage your teeth !

HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS ESTABLISHMENT! They actually deserve no stars. Dentist is VERY unprofessional. Dr. Shalmi did not want to engage with me verbally to discuss concerns that I felt more comfortable confiding in him about verses his assistant. I was only allowed to speak with the assistant who was unable to answer all of my questions without constantly leaving the room to confirm with Dr. Shalmi. During my first visit he yelled at one of his assistant’s Maria, while beginning my procedure simply because I asked him to confirm with me that the filling I would be getting is composite and not metal. He proceeds to yell at her for not already addressing that with me prior to his arrival to begin the process. I felt so bad I did not have plans on going back after that until I had a slight emergency that led me to return. I chipped a tooth which then led me to find out that I needed a root canal on that specific tooth. NOW GET THIS, I expressed the sensitivity on that tooth yet Dr. Shalmi; while examining the tooth took one of his instruments and filed the chipped tooth that chipped it MORE causing me so much pain.

Is that not common sense? Applying a filing instrument on a tooth that is already broken? While the patient is NOT under anesthesia, and even after being told by the patient about their sensitivity? After getting ready to walk out due to what Dr. Shalmi just did, his assistant begins to inform me that since my Medicaid insurance covers the root canal procedure that they are denying me service (knowing I’m in pain) to begin the root canal process because Dr. Shalmi will not be benefiting financially from me as his patient UNLESS I want to pay out of pocket and only then will he further the service, while continuing to be inconsistent with prices. The blonde short hair assistant with the heavy accent had no idea what she was talking about and clearly terrible at trying to be persuasive. PLACE IS A JOKE. 07/29/24 RESPONSE TO OWER: NO, let me correct you since you want to mislead your viewers. I have had ONE visit prior to my broken tooth emergency, which was X-rays and the botched filling I received by Dr. Shalmi, also where he yelled at his assistant in front of me. My mistake was still giving your office the benefit of the doubt and trusting Dr. Shalmi in my vulnerable state where I felt I needed dental attention quickly, and seeing as how I had my recent x-rays done with you it made sense at the time to return. Your office having "immediate" availability to see me in my time of need does not change the outcome of my terrible experience with you BOTH times. Look at the amount of bad reviews your patients have had with you over the years.

I am aware that a dental instrument cannot damage a healthy tooth BUT my tooth was BROKEN/CRACKED yet he still applied a filing instrument over the tooth which caused it to break more. No one in that office "decided" to send me to an Endodontics, and why would you if you Dr. Shalmi performs that type of procedure in office himself?(viewers can see that by other reviews and on your website that he indeed performs root canals). Dr. Shalmi just simply REFUSED to service me with a broken tooth because he was not profiting financially due to my health insurance covering the procedure. DON'T MISLEAD VIEWERS. Your response to my experience with you makes absolutely zero sense. You replied with the intent to make the patient seem uneducated when your outstanding Google and Yelp reviews speak for themselves, and as long as you are open to the public your reviews will continue to grow. There are so many great dental clinics in Riverdale, unfortunately your office is not one of them and I learned that the hard way. The public should know and be aware of that.

Just the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had. Stay far, far away. Laughably unprofessional. With so many dental options in the area, this should be at the absolute bottom of the list. And even then, I would not return if it was my last resort. Take a hint from the other reviews: Buyer Beware.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Shalmi and his office manager, Linda, at Riverdale dental care. The issues began when the office mishandled my insurance claim, causing a significant amount of stress and financial loss. Instead of taking accountability for their mistake, it felt as though they sought to recoup their loss by cutting corners on my dental care. Dr. Shalmi placed a temporary bond on what was supposed to be a permanent crown, which ultimately failed when the tooth fell out.

I returned to the office and explained what had happened, and I was told that the tooth could still be saved. They charged me $1,600 out of pocket to redo the crown—this time using permanent cement. However, the tooth has been hurting ever since. Now, I am forced to seek treatment with another dentist, who has advised that the tooth needs to be extracted. This office is not focused on patient care or health—it is entirely money-driven. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for patient well-being is alarming.

Dr. Shalmi’s attempts to fix my dental issues have only caused more problems, leaving me in pain and facing even higher costs for corrective treatment. I urge all of you who have been scammed by this Dr. Shalmi if you have time put a formal complaint against his license with the state he should not get away with doing bad dental work offering root canals to people who could save there tooth with simple not costly work. putting crowns on broken teeth, taking advantage of his patients trusts, bouncing from one room to the next , putting lidocaine on the wrong side of the mouth , the total disrespect for his patients for our oral health and care , money driven soulless dentist this man is the worst dentist on the planet. And he is a crook he is trying to scam his patients
