Detailed Introduction

Pediatric Dental Group of New York is a prominent dental practice dedicated to providing comprehensive oral healthcare specifically tailored for infants, children, and adolescents. The brand emphasizes creating a positive and comfortable experience for young patients, aiming to eliminate dental anxieties and promote a lifetime of good oral health. Founded by Dr. Farzad Sani, a board-certified pediatric dentist, the practice has grown to serve the New York Capital Region with multiple convenient locations, including Albany (at 652 Albany Shaker Rd), Glens Falls (at 88 Broad Street), and Schenectady (at 1760 Union Street). Dr. Sani, who established Pediatric Dentistry of Glens Falls in 2007, rebranded the practice to Pediatric Dental Group of New York in 2016 to encompass its expanding presence. The team at Pediatric Dental Group of New York consists of highly trained and compassionate pediatric dentists and support staff who are experts in communicating with children and addressing their unique dental needs. Their philosophy centers on education, prevention, and early intervention to ensure optimal dental development. Services offered by Pediatric Dental Group of New York include: Pediatric Dental Checkups: Routine exams, cleanings, and fluoride treatments to maintain oral hygiene and detect issues early. Preventive Care: Including dental sealants to protect against cavities, and guidance on proper brushing, flossing, and nutrition. Treatment for Dental Problems: Addressing cavities, gum disease, and other dental issues with a gentle approach. Conscious Sedation Dentistry: Utilizing safe and effective methods like nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to ensure children are comfortable and at ease during procedures. For cases requiring deeper sedation, they also offer O.R. treatment at Saratoga Surgery Center. Early dental care: Guiding parents on their child's first dental visit, typically by their first birthday or when their first tooth erupts. Orthodontics: Addressing alignment issues, making room for teeth, and improving bites, as well as providing habit correction devices for issues like thumb sucking. Emergency Dentistry: Prompt care for urgent dental situations. Digital X-rays: Utilizing state-of-the-art technology for clearer images with reduced radiation exposure. Pediatric Dental Group of New York prioritizes a child-friendly environment, advanced sterilization procedures, and continuous monitoring of dental advancements to provide the highest standard of care. They are committed to building strong relationships with both children and their parents, fostering an environment where questions are encouraged, and support is readily available.

Pediatric Dental Group of New York is a lifesaver for parents of little ones! My 4-year-old used to scream at the mention of the dentist, but after just two visits here, she runs in excited to see “Dr. Lulu” (Dr. Patel). The office is a kid’s dream—bright murals, a play area with toys, and even ceiling TVs showing cartoons during cleanings.

The staff has endless patience, turning exams into games (“Let’s count your sparkly teeth!”). They’re gentle with my son’s sensitive gums and take time to teach good habits. Plus, they send cute reminder texts with stickers. Finally, a dental place where kids feel safe and happy—we’re hooked!

My child is absolutely traumatized from his last appointment. Long story somewhat short. I was lied to and the stuff didn’t do their job properly. My son needed caps. I was informed the entire time that he would not remember any of this. It was a guarantee he wouldn’t remember it. He remembered everything and felt everything. They didn’t give him any time for the shot to kick in before he started drilling away at his teeth.

My son screamed and cried the entire time that they were hurting him, and that he was feeling everything, for them to just reassure me that he wouldn’t remember any of it and he was basically just over exaggerating. I called to speak with someone (Karen) She informed me that it’s only a 50-50 chance that the medication would work, that is not at all what I was told. I told her if I knew that I would have just taken him to a dentist that puts them under. I was also told that the doctor doing the procedure was supposed to talk to me about the medication and he never did that. He came in asked how we were. Made sure I signed everything and then walked out. I also had no clue he was gonna be strapped down. He kept saying he couldn’t breathe.

Later he told me the strap was tight. He has asthma something they knew and I would assume would have been brought up. I’m so mad I didn’t walk out as soon as I saw them doing that. They don’t care about ur child. Just that paycheck. Go somewhere else.

Tonight (on a Saturday) we had a scary dental emergency. We called the office and our call was returned in literally one minute. They had us come right in to the office and took care of my son right away.

They were nothing but kind, caring, and compassionate. They fixed him up, took X-rays before and after to make sure the job was done with precision! I can’t say enough great things about this husband and wife team that came to our rescue! ❤️❤️

I brought my six month old here for his first appointment. The place is cute, the wait wasn't long, and everything was pretty quick and efficient- but unfortunately the hygienist ruined it for me and we decided to switch to the smile lodge instead. A few days before his appointment, my little guy had a viral rash and ear infection and had been on amoxicillin for a few days.

The pediatrician had cleared him to go back to daycare and resume normal life a few days before the appt. The hygienist told me I shouldn't have brought him if he is sick, even after telling her that he had been better for a few days and cleared by peds and daycare. She also told me that he is probably allergic to amoxicillin because of his residual rash- he is not, and as a dental hygienist, she had no right to be giving medical advice about children's allergies.

She also questioned why his pediatrician would have him on oral fluoride supplements and told me to "do my research on the studies coming out on it" but provided me with no information on why I shouldn't be using it, and just left me feeling worried. Everything else went smoothly- the dentist was great and the place seemed efficient otherwise, but I just was left with a bad taste in my mouth after that visit and decided to switch him to a different practice.
