During a general check-up, the dentist convinced me I needed to change an old filling. I was not aware of any problems with the tooth but she pointed out on the x-ray that there was an area under the filling that had a darker color possibly indicating there may be decay. I accepted the explanation and allowed her to replace the filling. Several weeks later I went back because the tooth was sensitive all the time. She explained there was nothing she could do as it probably means I suffered permanent damage to the nerve when she did the procedure, and I should seek the advise of a root canal specialist.
A root canal specialist!? She was only supposed to change my filling, not destroy my nerve! Faced with no other choice I decided to see a specialist. He examined my tooth using an x-ray and explained that such permanent sensitivity means I do have permanent nerve damage, I'll need a root canal procedure. He said that while doing the procedure, my dentist probably got too close to the nerve with the drill without allowing the tooth to cool off, damaging the nerve. He told me he that, while he is not pointing a finger, he would not have changed the filling at first but observed it over time. If no change occurred, then the darkness was just the material used when filling the tooth, not actually any decay.
This explanation makes sense to me, what's the rush to change the filling right away? But my dentist chose a most aggressive approach, obviously in a hurry for the money, and reckless. How else could simply changing a filling--a most basic procedure any dentist should be able to safely do--result in the patient needing major dental work? And so now here I am faced with this expensive root canal procedure that I just cannot avoid because my tooth is painful. My advice is learn from my experience, save your teeth and avoid Peachy Smiles. There's nothing peachy about the way they treat their patients.

Dr. Dore is amazing, love the way she always make sure I’m comfortable once I hop in to her dental chair, and always follows up to make sure I’m not in any pain, she goes above and beyond and can’t wait for my follow up appointment. If your having any doubt or hate to go to the dentist, I suggest you go to Peachy Smiles and tell Dr.
Dore your fears and she will make sure you’re comfortable and all set.
