PanCare Health, also known as PanCare of Florida, Inc., is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Northwest Florida. Established in 2003 with the vision of making healthcare accessible and affordable for the medically underserved, PanCare has grown to a comprehensive network of clinics and access sites across multiple counties, including Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty, Walton, and Washington. The organization's core mission is to provide a comprehensive system of quality healthcare services that are easily accessible to all individuals and families. A key aspect of their model is the use of a sliding-fee scale for uninsured patients, which bases the cost of services on household income and size. They also accept patients with Medicaid and Medicare, ensuring that essential medical, dental, and behavioral health services are available to a wide range of people. PanCare offers a broad spectrum of services, including primary and urgent care, dental care (exams, cleanings, fillings, extractions, crowns, and bridges), optometry (eye exams, prescription, and affordable eyewear), and behavioral health services like counseling and therapy. They also operate a pharmacy, a school health program, and a telehealth service. Notably, PanCare maintains the largest mobile healthcare fleet in the state of Florida, which allows them to bring medical, dental, and vision care directly to underserved and rural communities, as well as to schools. The Port St. Joe location is one of PanCare's clinics, offering a range of these services including medical, dental, and optometry care. As an FQHC, PanCare is recognized for its patient-centered approach, focusing on delivering high-quality, patient-focused care and treating each individual with dignity and respect. The organization is a vital part of the community, serving not only local residents but also special populations such as those experiencing homelessness, agricultural workers, and veterans. They are also actively expanding, with plans to build a new regional healthcare center in Bay County to offer specialty services on a sliding-fee scale.

Dec 19th : My husband walked into Pancare this morning with an inner ear infection and was told to come back in February! They can’t see him because it’s Christmas week. We have been an established patients there for years, and seen the quality of care diminish in the last two years but this the last straw. We are now looking for a new primary provider.

Was in PSJ on vacation. Was bit by something on my right foot. Checked their website & it showed ‘urgent care’, among other ‘services’ (primary care, dental, etc). My foot was swollen, had a large blister & I wasn’t able to walk well. My family & I went in to see about a ‘walk In’ appointment. The girl at the desk said they are a primary care provider & only take urgent care appointments/walk ins, when there is availability. What!? There was ONE lady in the waiting room.

It was about 10am - they were not busy at all. I asked where she suggest I go instead. The ER! Such poor service. This area is full of locals & tourists. There isn’t a designated urgent care closeby. If an office is going to offer that service on their website, they should see the patient.

I changed my health-care system because they hired a former Veterans Affairs doctor. I'm not going to pay for that lack of care twice.

Sam at the PSJ office is rude! She hung up on me as I was speaking you literally could here the phone slam down. I called her back to let her know that she needed to work on her customer service skills and she laughed.
