I have been going to Nova Dental Partners since 2022. Their staff has always been friendly and helpful with navigating the healthcare process from billing to health consultation. I have requested doctors notes for FSA expenses receiving them the next day. They have accommodated many dental requests and questions I have presented.

They have also done a fantastic job with the dental services I have had them perform. Overall, this practice is very well run and I would recommend to others in the Alexandria area.

I had my first appointment today and everyone was amazing from the front desk and more! Dr Coutts was amazing and made me feel so comfortable. She was very warm and for the first time ever I look forward to my next dental visit!!

Had to switch dentists because I just moved to the area. This team was wonderful to work with and very helpful in scheduling. As someone who has multiple dental implants, I am cautious when getting a new dentist, but I really appreciated the care they took and how well they cleaned my teeth considering all the special hardware. Definitely a great dental group!

EDIT: We appreciate that after this review, the practice did reach out personally to finally make things right for both of us! Long overdue, but necessary review as it has been about a year since last having our first dental cleaning with Nova Dental Partners. TLDR: I would not recommend going to this practice not because of the care of the dentists or dental hygienists, but because of the management and front desk’s false statements and poor communication. There were multiple incidents that have prompted this honest review. The first, was when I had my cleaning. I was asked if I wanted to get a fluoride rinse and get my fillings taken care of. I asked about the cost and the front desk employee (short hair with glasses) checked, and came in to my exam lane with a clipboard of my information and told me that the treatments would be covered by my insurance. I had the treatments done.

As I was checking out, the same employee told me that actually, it was not covered and I ended up having to pay out of pocket about $180 for these treatments. When I asked why I had to pay out of pocket even though I was told previously that it would be covered by my dental insurance, she gave me a very round-about, unclear answer with no apology. The second incident was related to my partner who also came for a dental cleaning. He ended up needed a deep cleaning as well as several other additional treatments. He paid for 2 sessions of additional deep cleaning treatments and fillings which he had to return for on different days. He paid for everything at the initial visit. After all the treatments and cleanings were completed, Delta Dental sent us a complete breakdown of the charges, including the out-of-pocket cost and how much the insurance could cover for the treatments.

We compared all this information with the detailed receipt from NOVA dental partners and realized that he had been overcharged by about $200. He called several times about this discrepancy, and ultimately, they confirmed that they had overestimated the charges and now owed him that money. They said they would send a check with the overage that he was owed. A few weeks later, we still had not received a check, so we called again and they said something along the lines of “our billing department just finished processing this issue today actually so you should be getting the check back”. Several more follow-up phone calls with this same excuse of “actually we just discussed this today with our billing department and they should be getting back to you soon”, and guess what, we still have never gotten that money back.
