GK Raman is a SCAM. Other recent reviewers have had the same experience. As a healthcare provider myself, I can empathize with trying to get as much money from insurance as you can, but DO NOT leave your patients with substandard care as a result. Here are the facts: a routine dental cleaning includes both scaling (scraping surface plaque from teeth) and polishing (using pumice).

Dr. Raman claimed that my insurance might not cover scaling, which he referred to as "deep cleaning," so he only did a cursory polishing and said I would have to come back for the full cleaning if insurance approved it. Lo and behold, my insurance denied his preauth for a "deep cleaning"--a much more complicated and specialized procedure that earns a far larger reimbursement from insurance. Now, I have been billed for a complete cleaning which I did not receive, and therefore I cannot get a proper cleaning from another dentist for the next 6 months.

Crown Heights should be ashamed to support such a low life money-grabber.

Terrible service, filthy clinic. Went in for checkup and clean. The disposable paper headrest cover was filthy like it had never been replaced. When I asked if he could replace it he just spun it around.

The cleaning took 2 minutes and from what I could see didn’t actually clean anything. There is still very visible calculus on my front teeth. left all this gunk in my mouth and had to rinse out myself on the way out.

Now reading these reviews and PLEASE stay away from this grifter!!! Essentially did NO actually planing or cleaning of my teeth (put on the pink goo and gave them. 3 min brush then said I was done) and told me that I would need to have my insurance cover a “deep cleaning” which of course was denied because there wasn’t evidence of enough “bone loss”. Why would I need evidence of bone loss just to get a proper scraping/planing/cleaning like I’ve gotten from EVERY other dentist I’ve been to.

Now I have to wait another 6 months because my insurance paid him and I still don’t have clean teeth. Scam artist in its purest form, go see someone who also won’t verbally tell you that “he’s the doctor and what he says goes”.

Terrible, lazy dentist. Went for a dental cleaning four times and this man never cleaned a damn tooth. Had a bad cavity and he didn’t notice. Begun to have severe tooth pain and alleged that it was my wisdom teeth that had grown out and was touching a nerve, only to find out at the emergency room that it was the cavity left untreated.

Will never go back. He no longer needs to be practicing dentistry.
