They do okay work, but the customer service could be better. After being allowed in the room after the initial consultation, I get to the appointment and they tell me that I can’t go back due to a policy change and for safety reasons. There is clearly a policy on the wall that states that children 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent for safety and security. So now, for safety and security the parents must stay outside.

If they feel so uncomfortable, perhaps they should get on-site security. A lot of offices like this have taken advantage of the COVID rules for too long and have been allowed to charge the rules as it makes it more convenient to them. These people are asking almost $4000 from me and have restricted me from seeing my daughter’s treatment in progress. They could literally do anything to your child when you’re not with them.

Fortunately, my child is old enough to really say if something happened, but if you have a concern about your child going back alone, do not come here.

My child had a horrendous experience with Family Orthodontics. His appointment was previously made for a mouth appliance and braces, however upon arrival spacers were put into his mouth. We had to wait an hour for him to be called back. Prior to us going into the waiting area I was told he would not be getting braces today just the appliance, which is not the only procedure he was originally scheduled for, but they took it upon themselves to change it. Moving on when it was time to put the appliance in it was put in to low. The technicians had to remove it which caused my child excruciating pain. The technicians used glue to put the appliance in so of course he would be in a considerable amount of pain when trying to take it out.

He began to wiggle, scream and shed tears however all one of the techs did was tell him to raise his left hand if the pain was too bad. After that she proceeded to try to remove the appliance again, but instead of raising just his left hand my child raised both of his hands up. Do to the amount of pain he was in he grabbed the glasses that were on his face. He began to squeeze the glasses due to the unbearable pain he was in. The technicians did not say a word they got up and walked away. The orthodontist came back to remove what was left of the appliance from my child’s mouth and informed me he could no longer be serviced by them because he “intentionally “ hit the technician. I was sitting right there watching.

My child did NOT intentionally hit anyone! He was in an immense amount of pain, his mouth was bleeding, he’s shedding tears, breathing heavily, and they did nothing to try and calm him down. If the technician did get hit I believe she should have said something to me instead of just getting up and walking away. I find that to be very unprofessional. Also my child started hyperventilating afterwards and they did not show him one ounce of concern or comfort. If your child needs an appliance prior to or with braces I would NOT recommend Family Orthodontics!!
