Empower Your Smile with Dr. Patricia Moezinia, DDS, and her team are incredible! When I first moved to NYC, I fell for the ads from the chain dentistry office, Tend, and decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, they upsold me on unnecessary procedures and convinced me to drill things that didn’t need it. The quality was subpar, and I even left with sharp edges on my tooth. Flash forward, I found Empower Your Smile, and I couldn’t be happier. Dr.

Moezinia and her team genuinely care about their patients, never try to upsell, and are truly some of the best in the business. I’ve been consistently blown away by the quality of care they provide and am so grateful to have found Dr. Moezinia and her periodontist, Dr. Toscana, who executed a flawless and painless gum graft surgery for me. 10/10 recommend!

My experience at this dentist was nothing short of a nightmare. During a routine cleaning, the dentist inexplicably applied resin to my teeth without any prior explanation or consent. I was never informed why this unnecessary procedure was being done, nor was I given any cost estimate. It’s standard practice to provide a price breakdown for such procedures—none was offered. Days later, I received a call informing me that my card had declined when they attempted to charge me $500. The dentist admitted she had initially charged my card incorrectly, then reversed it, only to try charging me again without my knowledge or consent.

I was then informed I owed a balance of $15, which she offered to “waive” as a courtesy. This call only came because the payment didn’t go through, which speaks volumes about their priorities. In total, I was charged over $1200 for what should have been a simple cleaning. At no point was I informed about these additional charges. When I requested an itemized bill, I was given the runaround and was eventually handed a hastily put-together invoice that appeared to be written up only after I insisted on it. Despite asking for a bill before I left, I was told they needed to wait for insurance to process—clearly an excuse to inflate the prices based on what insurance would or wouldn’t cover.

The most alarming part is that the practice operated under a different business name, likely in an attempt to escape the poor reviews they’ve accumulated. This was a classic bait-and-switch, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve pulled this stunt on many others. Consider this a warning to avoid this dentist at all costs.

Dr. Youdeem is a wonderful dentist. My veneers have stood the test of time having been done a decade ago and having very few issues. I highly recommend especially for cosmetic procedures, though she does accept my insurance for regular checkups.

Dr. Toscano was great. Very relaxed. The office staff is very challenging to deal with. I originally saw Dr. Toscano on March 12th for a consult. They were going to submit my treatment plan to my insurance to determine coverage. It took them over a month to submit it.

During my treatment, the in person who deals with billing and to scheduling was talking to Dr. Toscano about other cases and schedule. He finally told her to stop and he needed to focus on what he was doing (working in my mouth). After the treatment she came to collect debit card for payment. I asked her how much she didn't tell me. Just said it was according to the plan. I was left in the chair. Just waiting so I got up and went and stood by her door and saw that she had charged me the wrong amount.

Different than what we had agreed to. I think it took as long if not longer to make my payment and get my receipt than it did to have the treatment. While processing my payment. She was doing a million other things as well. I'm not sure I'll go back to this office once I have my follow-up for the procedure I had done. It's nice to have a good dentist, but if it's a hassle getting to him it may not be worth it.
