Unfortunately, I’ve had several negative experiences with this office that have led me to seek dental care elsewhere. Communication has been consistently disorganized and careless, I was promised follow-up calls that never happened, and I had to submit my secondary insurance information three separate times before it was finally added to my account. There were repeated delays and a lack of transparency in filing insurance claims, along with frequent overcharges and scheduling errors that led to unfair late fees, wasted trips, and unnecessary time off work. I was also repeatedly given inaccurate or contradictory information. What I was told over the phone or in person often didn’t match up later, creating constant confusion and frustration. On one occasion, I was hit with a surprise $500 charge upon arrival and told I needed to pay before treatment could begin, despite being told at the end of my previous visit that my balance was paid in full.
These charges were never communicated in advance and weren’t reflected in my original treatment quotes, making it impossible to plan financially and resulting in out-of-pocket expenses that should have been completely avoidable, and would have changed my decision-making had I been truthfully informed about the actual costs. I understand that quotes are estimates and that insurance can be complicated, but not following up or communicating with the patient when the final bill ends up being more than double the estimate shows a serious lack of effort and accountability. In another instance, I was nearly charged twice for the same procedure. Fortunately, I recognized the amount and asked them to double-check it, only to find out it had already been paid during my last visit. I can’t imagine the additional hassle it would have taken to get that money reimbursed if I hadn’t caught it myself. One of the most distressing experiences involved a poorly fitted crown cap that left me unable to fully close my mouth for over 16 hours.
I had to spend $60 on an early-morning Uber to make it to the office as soon as they opened — just so I could eat again and still make it to work on time. During another visit, they struggled to take X-rays, which left the roof of my mouth torn up and exposed me to repeated radiation. The hygienists even joked about how it might affect their own fertility which was wildly disturbing to hear mid-treatment especially as a young woman. Even now, five months after switching dentists, I’m still dealing with financial issues caused by their billing and insurance mishandling. This place is a mess. They genuinely do not care about their patients or the quality of their service, save yourself the stress and go LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!!

My experience was incredibly. Everyone made me feel very at ease. Dr Blissett was absolutely wonderful. He knows how much it means for me to smile at my grandson’s wedding with only a few days to accomplish this . Coming to Dental Partners of Brookline was the best thing I did for myself. I had a disappointing experience at Dental Partners of Brookline. Before my visit, I called to inquire about the cost of a filling, but the representative wouldn’t provide a price, only stating that the dentist would assess my tooth first. I was also told that there’s typically no charge if no work is done. During my appointment, Dr. Roy spent less than two minutes examining my tooth and immediately told me I needed both a filling and a crown, quoting me $4,000. When I asked if I could do just the filling and wait on the crown, they insisted both had to be done together—conveniently, the doctor was available to do it right away. I was surprised they didn’t have any other patients waiting, which made me even more skeptical.
I understand that they took X-rays, and I expected a charge for that. However, Dr. Roy never showed me my X-rays or discussed them with me in the treatment room, which I found unprofessional. When I checked out, I asked to see my X-ray, and instead of displaying it properly, the receptionist just handed me a printed picture of my tooth on a piece of paper, which felt careless and unprofessional. On top of that, when I checked in, they pushed me to get a cleaning first, making it feel like an upsell rather than genuine patient care. The final straw was the unexpected $235 charge just for the brief exam, which was never disclosed beforehand. Had I been informed, I wouldn’t have proceeded.
When I raised my concerns, the receptionist admitted that the call center wasn’t properly trained but still made me pay. A business that fails to provide transparent pricing, pressures patients into expensive procedures, and then shifts the blame to internal miscommunication is not one I can trust. I won’t be returning. Take my $235—I’ll be spending my $4,000 at a dental clinic that values honesty and transparency.
