I will never visit this office again after a disastrous wisdom tooth extraction experience. Do not visit this office if you desire clear information before and after your procedure from staff, a comfortable appointment, or a smooth recovery. To start, my prescriptions were put in weeks too early under an incorrect spelling of my name days before the office left for 12 days of vacation. Minor and forgivable. At my pre-op cleaning, I explained that I was terrified of dental work, but needed him to put me under and take all four teeth out at once so that it could finally be done. On the day of my procedure, I asked if I would be "going night-night", to which the dentist responded "I'm going to make you very comfortable. " That was a lie. The surgery was literally a waking nightmare. I was awake the entire time in the hot office. The dentist was clearly frustrated by the time he got to the left side, and tools were slipping all over the place. I was terrified a big metal tool would chip one of my other teeth while I was fully numb. The suction work by the assisting tech was laughable, and I gagged more than once. I heard my jaw and teeth crack throughout, and my face is badly bruised on the left where the dentist held my face so hard that he was shaking. (Photo attached is 5 days post-op).

My stitches took extra long as the tech seemed unable to clip the correct strings, and then snipped one too short. The dentist had to take a moment to stop and teach her. They sent me home with single-use instant cold packs that were hardly cold (Photo attached), wrapped in brown office paper towels, and about 10 extra squares of gauze. Thank goodness I had prepared and bought myself a head wrap ice pack and extra gauze because I needed both. They also gave me no instructions leading up to my appointment date; I had to call to ask if I could eat breakfast on the morning of as I was not given any guidance aside from taking the antibiotics. The day I came home, I bled for several hours and two stitches fell out of my mouth. I called the office about this and my pain level, and I was told that "Stitches fall out sometimes" and this pain is what I should expect for doing all four teeth at once. This blame is a recurring theme. Later that same night, I vomited from the prescribed hydrocodone and mouth blood in my stomach. When I called office and pressed 2 for the on-call doctor line, I was sent to voicemail. I didn't hear back from the on-call dentist until the next morning, where he suggested that I must have called incorrectly as his phone didn't ring. What a pathetic lack of responsibility. The office offered no solution or replacement pain med despite my telling them I was in pain and could not take the hydrocodone due to vomiting. Instead, they reminded me it was my choice to have both sides done at once.

A third stitch came out, still knotted, three days after my appointment. The dentist assured me beforehand I'd be able to work remotely the immediate day after the procedure. He must have never worked any job I know of. I needed Friday and Monday off, and worked remotely Tuesday and Wednesday due to the giant green bruise on my face that shows his index finger and thumb where he gripped my face. My jaw still aches badly, and my chin and bottom lip are still fully numb. The office's advice? "One time, a patient was numb for a month. " Sometimes it happens. Whatever. You choose to do all four teeth, honey. The office has yet to cancel the second set of prescriptions they put in erroneously, and CVS is still hounding me to pick them up. The office asked for my medical insurance card, which I provided via email yesterday, and today I received a reminder to send it in as though it were missing. Can anyone read in this office? I have cancelled my follow up appointment and booked my follow-up with a hopefully-less-arrogant dentist with more competent staff. I look forward to establishing my care there going forward as the standard of care offered here is embarrassingly abysmal.

HEATHER IS THE BEST! From the moment I walked into The Dental Office at Chestnut Hill, Heather greeted me with a warm smile and genuine kindness. As Administrative Coordinator, she navigated my scheduling hiccups, insurance questions, and last-minute appointment changes with remarkable patience and grace. Whether it was helping me understand my coverage, rearranging my visits around my hectic workday, or simply checking in to make sure I felt comfortable, Heather went above and beyond at every step.

Her attention to detail is impressive—she remembered small preferences I mentioned in passing, like my preference for morning slots and follow‑up reminders by text. She remains calm under pressure, turning what could be a stressful experience into a smooth, reassuring visit each time. I will continue returning to this practice solely because of Heather’s efforts, kindness, and professionalism.

If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about your well‑being and makes every interaction feel personalized, Heather is your person. She’s not just an administrator; she’s the heart behind the seamless coordination that keeps the office running so smoothly.

The best experience I've ever had in a dental office. The staff was super friendly and well-trained. The doctor answered all my questions. I didn't even feel when he pulled my tooth out.
