Considering my interaction with the receptionist today, I would be inclined to give a one-star rating. . I had been communicating with Dr. Singh via email to arrange an appointment, and I subsequently contacted him by phone on June 27, 2025. He initially scheduled my appointment for Saturday, July 5th. However, I inquired if it could be changed to a Sunday due to transportation issues. Dr. Singh kindly accommodated my request and rescheduled the appointment for Sunday, July 6th, at 10:00 AM. Upon arriving at the office this morning at 10 a. m. , I was met by the receptionist, who, unfortunately, spoke to me in a rather condescending manner. She seemed to imply that I was not expected, as there was no record of an appointment.

She then suggested I wait in the waiting room, but mentioned it would be several hours before I could be seen. I explained that I had contacted the office weeks ago and was told my appointment was scheduled for today and that I had arranged transportation to pick me up at 11 a. m. , based on the 10 a. m. appointment. I would not be able to wait for several hours. Her response was, "Well, that wasn't going to work anyway because a root canal doesn't take an hour. " However, my appointment was not for a root canal; it was for an evaluation and diagnosis, especially considering my current pregnancy and the limitations that come with it. She then contacted Dr. Singh, via phone, because he was not in the office, he confirmed the details I had provided to her upon my appointment check-in. At that point, an apology and a solution would have been appreciated.

Rather, she adopted a somewhat brusque tone, stating, "I am unsure what you discussed with Dr. Singh, but you are speaking with me now," as if I were a child. As she is still telling me to wait in the waiting room for an availability to open up i declined and asked for her to ask someone to assist with this issue for a solution who is in the office currently. Thank you to the doctor who made time to see me in their busy schedule that assessed my tooth and provided a diagnosis was incredibly helpful, and I now understand the necessary steps to take. I traveled nearly three hours due to morning traffic to arrive here for a referral because this was the place closest to me that took my insurance when my dentist referred me to a specialty dentist. As the receptionist, you are the initial point of contact and the first impression for those seeking service. If you find yourself disinclined towards problem-solving or customer service, then step back and ask someone to help you or find a new job dont be rude and nasty to patients. Especially talking like that to a pregnant patient its just low had i responded back in the manner she spoke to me I would be deemed as aggressive or problematic and would have not been declined service which is why I held my composure and stopped communicating with her. It is important to remember this lesson: when a patient requests to reschedule, it is crucial to update their appointment in the system to prevent similar issues. I am grateful that the kind gentleman who saw me today with the 2 women who assisted him in the room that was able to evaluate my tooth, as it would have been quite inconvenient to travel here without being seen. I am also pleased with the pleasant end to the services because of their kindness, patience, and understanding, which is why I gave it a 4 star.
