About
Dr. Steven Turner was born in New York City. He was educated in the public schools in Queens, graduated with honors from John Browne HS and Queens College. He received his DDS from the NYU College of Dentistry in 1977. Dr. Turner has been practicing in Howard Beach since 1979.Dr. Turner continues to improve his craft by taking several courses of continuing education yearly. He keeps abreast of the newest advances in dentistry and his office is up to date with the latest technology. All x-rays taken in the office are digital, which means that clear and sharp images are obtained instantly with one tenth the radiation exposure of conventional dental x-rays. These images can be magnified and are an excellent educational tool to help a patient understand what needs to be done. Cosmetic dentistry is an area of particular interest to Dr. Turner, and he has taken several courses to be able to offer his patients the latest techniques of improving the aesthetics of a smile. Whitening, porcelain laminates, bonding, and all porcelain crowns and bridges, are examples of some of these procedures. Facial treatments such as using injectables (Botox) and dermal fillers (Restylane and Juvederm) are part of Dr. Turner's offerings.Dr. Turner strives to make the dental experience as pleasant as possible and that is a top priority of his office and staff. Nitrous Oxide analgesia is offered, and Dr. Turner prides himself in giving injections as pain free as possible. Children are treated with unique care and patience and a mirror is used to show and explain to the child what is about to be done. Dr. Turner is married, has 2 children and 2 granddaughters.
