Dr. Steven Katz combines the best elements of modern dentistry with the warmth, concern, and personal touch that were the hallmarks of dentistry in the “old days.” He cares about each of his patients, not simply in terms of their oral health, but in every regard. He truly wants his patients to feel their best, both physically and emotionally, and understands how fundamental having a beautiful smile is to that. Dr. Katz established his dental practice in 1984, with a clear goal to provide the residents of Long Island with cosmetic and general dentistry of an exceptional standard. His ambition was to give each of his patients better care than they had ever before received, and for nearly three decades, he has been doing precisely that. Reflective of his achievements in the field of dentistry, Dr. Katz has been awarded Mastership by the Academy of General Dentistry, the highest designation that a general dentist can receive from the esteemed organization. He is one of the few Masters in the state of New York. Dr. Katz further distinguishes himself by being one of the rare dentists who, in addition to providing general and sedation dentistry of the highest quality, is also a gifted and experienced cosmetic dentist. He performs a full range of surgical procedures, including the placement of dental implants, which allows him to accept cases that other dentists might have to refer out. To ensure that each of his patients is able to receive the care they need, comfortably and without anxiety, Dr. Katz offers sedation dentistry to augment his warm, compassionate manner and gentle touch. In preparation for his dental career, Dr. Katz earned degrees from Columbia University and the Washington University School of Dental Medicine. He underwent advanced training in oral surgery and served as Chief Resident in Dentistry at North Shore University Hospital, where he continues to function as an Attending Dentist and Instructor. He routinely lectures to his fellow dentists on a variety of topics, passing on the knowledge, insight, and unique perspectives on dentistry that he has developed throughout his career. He has also served as team dentist for the New York Jets professional football team. When he is not serving his patients, Dr. Katz enjoys spending time with his wife, Regina, to whom he has been happily married since 1979. The couple has three beautiful daughters. In his spare time, he participates in numerous sports and is highly involved in the community of Roslyn Heights, where he makes his home.
