Contemporary Endodontic Therapy and Allergens: Have We Opened Pandora’s Box?, An extensive review of the medical and dental literature was conducted which revealed many of the materials utilized in contemporary endodontic therapy are potential allergens. The purpose of this study was to raise awareness of these seemingly innocuous allergens found in everyday endodontic materials, provide a practical method to ascertain related previous allergic reactions from patients, recognition of the responses they evoke, and appreciate the implications of these materials on current endodontic practice. May 2004. American Association of Endodontists Annual Session Table Clinic Presentation. Protease Activity of Enterococcus faecalis Colonizing Medicated Root Canals, Numerous studies have shown that persistent endodontic infections are often caused by the resistant microorganism Enterococcus faecalis. There is little research that describes the mechanisms through which bacteria metabolize and proliferate in the nutrient poor environment of a medicated root canal. This research examined the role that E. faecalis proteolytic enzymes, including collagenases and gelatinases, play in maintaining persistent infections. Awarded the Southern Illinois University’s Dean’s Student Research Fellowship, May 2001.

Dr. Benjamin did an excellent job with my root canal. No pain or issues afterwards. My main complaint is with office staff concerning billing and how they code for insurance. I have Guardian PPO. The Limited Eval would have been covered by insurance 100% if it had been done on a separate day from the root canal or at least at 70% if lumped into the total for the root canal procedure. The staff said they work with Guardian all the time and that is how they do it. As a result, I was stuck with the entire $110 bill for the oral Limited Eval part of the bill. Instead of trying to work with me on the amount of the Limited Eval, I was told I could not leave the office unless I paid the entire amount of the root canal bill including the Limited Eval disputed amount. If the office staff works with Guardian all the time, then they should have known this is how it works and scheduled the Limited Eval on a separate day from the day of the Root Canal to help their patients avoid a costly bill.

He himself was nice and explained procedures and plans very well. His staff not so much. Nurses and office girls very very rude! Definitely not trained in customer service. DONT ever miss understand their directions or appointment times you will not be seen again. We are first time customers so this was not a habitual appointment missing situation. They are not willing to work with customers.

Dr. Benjamin was extremely competent, very kind, and thorough. He carefully explained what needed to be done, insured my comfort during the procedure while completing it efficiently, and explained what he accomplished at the end.

Dr Benjamin did a root canal procedure on me and the experience was excellent. It was pain free. He was very detailed in his approach as to how the procedure would take place and equally good in explaining things that needed to do in the aftermath.

I would highly recommend Dr. Benjamin. I had a root canal, and he made the experience more than tolerable. It was painless, and he explained what he was doing every step of the way. His assistant, Jamie, was terrific as well.

He was gentle with my teeth. He knew that I was nervous and eased my worries. I did not have any pain with the root canal.
