About
Dr. Lauren Chapman grew up in Olympia, Washington, and has wanted to be a dentist since she was 12 years old. She loves the mix of artistry and science and cannot imagine another profession as engaging and fulfilling as dentistry. Dr. Chapman graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. There, she gained experience in the fields of endodontics, removable prosthodontics, periodontal surgery and disease management, oral and maxillofacial surgery, implantology, pediatric dentistry, and radiology. After graduation from dental school, Dr. Chapman cared for patients in the rural area of California before moving to West Virginia for her husband's job. In West Virginia, Dr. Chapman gained experience treating complex cases and helping patients overcome deep dental phobias. In 2015, she began practicing in Cary, North Carolina and expanded her dental expertise to include cosmetic dentistry and implant restorations. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Wake County Dental Society, and the American Academy of General Dentists. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Chapman enjoys tennis, skiing, rock climbing, gardening, cooking, traveling, and studies the martial art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Dr. Chapman and her husband, Dwight, moved to Durham in October 2015 to be closer to family and have two cats, Brie and Stilton (yes, they are named after types of cheese).
