About
Dr. Joanna Claustro is recognized by her patients for her cheerful nature, gentle chair side manner, and excellence in clinical care. She listens to your unique concerns and expectations; and takes the time necessary to help you understand the status of your oral cavity and the options available to help you achieve your dental goals. Her passion for patient care is seen in all aspects of her practice. Dr. Claustro was born in New York and raised in Virginia -- attending The Madeira School in Mclean, VA before heading to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY where she received her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Business Management. After college, Dr. Claustro returned to Northern Virginia to pursue a career in Marketing, but after several years realized her passion to help others and decided to hit the books once again. Dr. Claustro is proud to have earned her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. She and her husband, fell in love with New England, but knew that Virginia would always be home. After several years of being an associate dentist with amazing mentors, Dr. Claustro purchased NOVA Dental Group in November 2013 and is excited to be serving the individuals and families of Loudoun County. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is continually expanding her knowledge and skills through continuing education and by developing close relationships with other members within the dental industry. Dr. Claustro stays up-to-date on the latest in dental therapies and technologies. She is active with the Seattle Study Club and Spear Dental Education -- globally recognized organizations dedicated to providing advanced dental education. Dr. Claustro was awarded Best Case Presentation in 2017 by the Loudoun Chapter of the Seattle Study Club for her presentation on providing patients with comprehensive care while respecting an individual's emotional, financial, and scheduling limitations.
