Dr. Metheny saved a tooth that had a huge chunk break out of the side. I was sure I would have to have an extraction, but his repair has lasted years now with no issues.I highly recommend Family Dental.

Though I was convinced I would need several tooth extractions Dr. Metheny said he would try to save some of my teeth which I didn’t realize was possible. His staff was calm and professional and had no issues with me asking questions. It is not often one enjoys a trip to the dentist for a tooth extraction but I truly could not ask for a more enjoyable dentist visit. Truly an 11/10 experience. I would recommend Dr. Metheny and Family Dental to anyone.

Dr. Matheny uses improperly trained assistants rather than licensed hygienists. His staff refused to wear a mask during COVID-19 while performing invasive procedures such as inserting bite wing films and x-ray machine at close range of 24 inches from patient’s open mouth. No screening for current or recent infection. Did not follow pandemic protocols per CDC or ADA. Formal complaint filed with WV Board of Dental Examiners.

My usual dentist found a very small cavity 6 months ago. He planned to check it again when I came back in six month but transferred to another city. I was given Dr. Metheny. Dr. Metheny broke my tooth. Instead of having a small cavity, I had a major costly repair. I had to spit out pieces of my tooth in the hand wash basis in the room because the pieces were too big for the suction to pick up. He never explained nor apologized for his mistake. I will never go back to him again.
