Hannah Lee Thompson DDS was born and raised primarily in eastern North Carolina She attended high school in Wake Forest NC and was awarded an athletic scholarship to East Carolina University for swimming Dr Hannah graduated with a degree in Health Education Promotion where she was captain of the women s swim team and awarded the university s student athlete of the year in 2013 While pursuing her undergraduate degree she had the opportunity to serve on several mission trips to different areas including Mexico multiple parts of Africa and Nicaragua It was on these trips that Dr Hannah fell in love with dentistry and serving her community and decided to pursue a degree in dentistry She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry now UNC Adams School of Dentistry where she continued her heart for missions and serving Dr Hannah is a member of the American Dental Association Academy of General Dentistry the North Carolina Dental Society and the Carteret County Dental Society Dr Hannah loves every opportunity to volunteer at the local schools and be involved in the growth of our outstanding community She enjoys all aspects of Family and Cosmetic Dentistry and has a special passion for treating children She strives to create a laidback comfortable environment for her patients while providing them with the highest quality of care Dr Hannah is married to Corey Thompson whom she met while she was swimming and he was playing baseball at ECU His family is born and bred Cartericans and he serves as an insurance agent with Farm Bureau in Beaufort Outside of practicing dentistry she and her husband enjoy spending time with their friends and family cheering on all of the Pirate athletic teams with a side of Tarheel sports as well going to the beach working out and exploring all that our wonderful coastal town has to offer
