As a licensed general dentist, Dr. Harvey can provide a wide range of contemporary dental services to patients of all ages. He has special interest in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and lifelike replacement teeth. Advanced cosmetic training from world-renowned instructors at LVI and the Ross Nash Institute has matured his knowledge and expertise in functional aesthetics. This means that he addresses the function and appearance of teeth to create a solid, attractive smile. He uses contemporary technology to enhance the patient experience with accurate diagnostics and conservative treatments. Dr. Greg Harvey, DDS, FAGD of Waupaca was honored with the 2010 Fellowship Award by the Academy of General Dentistry at its annual meeting in New Orleans, LA in July. The Award is among the most distinguished and difficult to earn, offered by the group. The Fellowship Award is presented to dentists who provide the highest quality dental care by remaining current in their profession through continuing education. To accomplish this, Dr. Harvey completed 500 hours of continuing education and passed a comprehensive written exam. A dentist who is designated a "fellow" in the AGD has been recognized by other dentists as a leader and an example to others of the importance of continuing education to improved patient care. While most Wisconsin dentists are AGD members, Dr. Harvey is the only one in Waupaca County to attain the prestigious Fellowship Award. "We are proud to honor Dr. Harvey for his commitment to the profession," said AGD President, Fares M. Elias, DDS, JD, and FAGD. "He has distinguished himself professionally among his peers and demonstrated the characteristics of a role model to his fellow dentists and members of the community." Dr. Harvey graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry in 1979 and practices in Waupaca. He and his wife, Amy, have three children; Robert, Sara Jean and Katrina. In addition to the AGD, Dr. Harvey is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Dental Association, the American Academy of Orthodontics for the General Practitioner, the International Association of Orthodontics and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. A general dentist is the primary care provider for patients of all ages and is responsible for diagnosis, treatment, management and overall coordination of services related to patients' oral health needs. The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) is a professional association with more than 350,000 members nation-wide. . Away from the office, Dr. Harvey and his wife, Amy, have three children: Robert, Sara Jean, and Katie. The doctor enjoys snow skiing, golfing, and music. He pays piano and guitar, and he enjoys singing Karaoke.
