About
Dr. Donald Elitt      Education Dr. Elitt received his bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University and his D.D.S. degree from Loyola University of Chicago. He completed his post graduate M.S. degree in orthodontics at St. Louis University. This graduate program is considered the number one ranked orthodontic residency program in the United States.       Credentials Dr. Elitt is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics which involves intense examination on a national level. Only 13% of the orthodontists in the country have achieved this status.  His research at St. Louis University explored "facial esthetics in the adolescent patient." He was past president of the North District of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society and past president of the St. Louis University Orthodontic Alumni Education and Research Foundation. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the World Federation of Orthodontists, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, the Missouri Dental Association, the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation for Orthodontic Research and Education and was a past examiner for this group. Currently he is licensed to practice in Missouri, Illinois, Colorado, and the District of Columbia as both a dentist and a specialist in orthodontics. He previously served as a member of the board at John Burroughs School from 1998-2004. He also was a member of the Parent's Council at Washington University in St. Louis from 2005-2009.    Experience Dr. Elitt is professionally dedicated to improving the field of orthodontics exhibited by serving as a Clinical Associate Professor in Orthodontics at St. Louis University imparting his years of experience to each new class of orthodontic residents. In conjunction with his teaching position, he has periodically served on thesis defense committees. He gives lectures and continues to maintain an active interest in continuing education for life long learning. He currently is a participant in the Harvard Medical School Health Group Study. He is listed in the "Best Dentists in the World" and was chosen by his peers as one of the best doctors in St. Louis in the 2011 edition of St. Louis Magazine.
