Volunteer Pediatric Dentistry in Powell

Took my Son who is 3 years old to this facility. He had previously went to ETPD in Powell. We changed dentists due to personal reasons.

We are SO HAPPY we did! Volunteer staff is ABSOLUTELY wonderful! The front desk staff are so friendly! The check out staff is FABULOUS! The Hygienist (JILL) was FABULOUS! My son was so attentive & loved the interaction she gave him. He was not scared at all! Then we met Dr. Nadareh Naseri she is AMAZING! Very knowledgeable, very kid friendly, super nice, my Son loved everything about this facility! No COMPLAINTS ☺️

If you make an appointment here you need to triple check with the workers. They have messed my appointment up twice now and keep pushing me back 4 months each time even though I have cards with the exact day and time that they made it for.

I recently took my two daughters in for a cleaning. The appointments were scheduled with time between them so that I could sit with each one individually as they haven’t been to the dentist and I knew they would be scared. When we arrived, they called my youngest back first and I figured we would see the same hygienist and they would just switch out when my youngest was done. A few minutes later, another hygienists comes in and asks for my oldest. So they ended up splitting them up and I was having to bounce from room to room to make sure they were okay. During this, they asked if I was okay with my kids getting X-rays because they haven’t had any. I asked for a quote and one hygienist told me that it would probably be around $200 but that was most likely shooting high. So I was figuring about $400 for both kids and I was okay with that.

My youngest daughter finished up and I go to check on my oldest and the hygienist is visibly frustrated. My oldest daughter is having a hard time with the X-rays because the little winged things that they have to put in her mouth are large for her mouth and she says that they are hurting her. When dealing with kids, getting mad or upset with them only makes things worse, and with these hygienists working with kids every day, I figured they would understand. The hygienist is getting more and more frustrated. Another hygienist comes in and asks if she can help or try to see if she can get my daughter to allow her to do it, and the hygenist refuses. Instead of being calm and gently, she then proceeds to try to cram the xray piece in my child’s mouth. Of course my child starts crying hysterically and the hygienist starts aggravatingly pushing all of the xray equipment out of the way and says that she’s done trying. My child is hysterically crying, apologizing, saying “its all her fault”, and that she’s sorry.

She shouldn’t have to apologize for being scared and the hygienist forcing the xray thing in her mouth. When we finally go to leave, they tell me that for the cleanings and X-rays that it is $840!!!! They gave me a 15% discount because we didn’t have dental insurance and it was almost $720 total. Double what I was expecting to pay. The only reason I’m giving 1 star is because Dr. Naseri was so so nice! She was amazing but the rest of the visit was awful. I called my husband as soon as I left and was in tears, as well as my oldest daughter because it was so bad. I will never be back and I hope my oldest daughter isn’t traumatized from this visit and will do okay with future dentists.

The only reason I'm still giving 2 stars is because my youngest child's first dentist appointment went well. The dentist was very friendly. However, after going round and round with the rude, frustrating, and apparently hard of hearing front staff we have canceled all of our children's appointments. Judging by other reviews we're not the only one experiencing rude staff.
