I contemplated writing this review for many reasons, but I want to share my experience. I took my mother here for an emergency appointment regarding her moral and wisdom teeth that were cracked and infected. She has pretty severe dental phobia and I didn’t want her to go alone. They were able to get us scheduled for the following day. This was a very clean and kept facility and the desk staff were kind. We were first put into a normal exam booth and the student assisting us was incredibly sweet and empathetic, which helped calm some fears down. X-Rays were taken to confirm the issue, and it was decided both the moral and wisdom need to be extracted. We get moved to the oral surgery section of the facility and were met with 2 different higher leveled students. They were both very sweet.

They start numbing the area (which hurts like hell for anyone at first), but after the third round of shots and still not taking effect, I was concerned. They start trying to extract the first tooth which put my mom in noticeable distress. After attempting to renumb the area, try to extract, waiting for her striking pain to subside enough…about 6 times. Now to the second tooth. Take the above situation, add in horrific agony and pain, times it by 10, and a stitch in her gum. Through the 2 hours total these extractions took, I sat quietly at the end of the table and did all I could to provide any comfort and distraction for her. I have never witnessed someone in that amount of pain before, and oh my god it’s traumatic. I’m astonished. Not to mention it being my mom which only amplifies how I feel about this.

There comes a point in any procedure when it should be halted as to not put someone in straight pure torture, but that’s what happened here. Just to top it all off, they stated they can’t offer ANY type of pain relief for afterwards at home, handed her 2 Tylenol, and we were sent on our way. To say I was floored is an understatement. She’s got a damn stitch holding her gum line together from this and it’s tough luck for the inevitable pain? I find that to be incredibly cruel. Overall- the students and staff were nice and did help bring her anxiety down, but the practice/school protocols and guidelines on procedures are so far outlandish and inhumane. I really question the ethics of their nonexistent aftercare pain relief approach. Don’t be afraid to go here, but absolutely raise hell if you aren’t being adequately cared for; and if you have a complex procedure done, don’t forget to find time afterwards for an inevitable ER visit.

My daughter is existing patient here and I’ve been trying to make an appointment to periodontist for 4 days I had someone pick up twice and then hang up on me. I also left a message to see if they would get back and I have not been contacted.

Tried to get an appointment with school of dentistry 10 months ago tried to call numerous times was hung up on or they said they would call back nope they just ignored me. Still haven’t gotten it fixed because I have no insurance and they send me a txt today my appointment was cancelled due to weather. It being a school you would think they would take care of their patients.

They are completely incompetent as far as I am concerned. Who lets people wait I. Pain for almost a year?

I love the people who work on me, BUT, trying to get ahold of anyone in the DMD clinic or the grad school department is Impossible. I have called, and called, and called and left messages every time, because noone ever answers, and then I NEVER GET A CALL BACK, as the recording promises. This is a serious problem. It is a hugh failure in your ability to communicate with a paying customer.
