Store-A-Tooth is a specialized Dental stem cell banking service offered by Provia Laboratories, LLC. Unlike a traditional dental clinic that provides restorative or cosmetic treatments, Store-A-Tooth focuses on biobanking. The service provides a way for families to preserve adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) from a variety of sources, including baby teeth that are ready to fall out, teeth pulled for orthodontic purposes, and extracted wisdom teeth. These cells are considered a powerful and plentiful source of viable stem cells. The process is designed to be convenient and affordable for families. Store-A-Tooth partners with dental offices, which act as collection points. A dentist places the extracted tooth into a special collection kit, which includes a proven transport device called Save-A-Tooth. This kit is then shipped overnight to the Provia Laboratories facility. At the lab, the stem cells are harvested from the dental pulp, tested for viability, and then cryopreserved for long-term storage. The primary purpose of banking these cells is to provide a resource for future potential use in regenerative medicine and dentistry.
