Do you remember having that one meal in your life where it made you go, “Whoa…I’ve been eating garbage compared to this”? That’s how it feels to go to Southern Dental Arts. I refused to see a dentist for 11 years because I was just too anxious. Then, when one of my fillings rotted to the point of breaking off in my mouth, I had to go get treated. Except that particular dental practice made me feel like I had walked into a “if we get this done in 10 minutes or less we get to charge you double” kind of practice. Miserable, right? Well then I tried another practice (because I learned that I couldn’t avoid dental pain by just not going to the dentist…).

I thought that dentist did a totally fine job. . until I came to Southern Dental. Hygienist Jessica was so purposefully slow and thoughtful I wouldn’t be shocked if she was moonlighting as a therapist for traumatized children . As for the doctor? Go look up “generous” in the dictionary and you’ll find his photo (probably).

He was patient with getting to know my history and wasn’t looking to make a quick buck off working on my mouth. Some of their staff enjoy working here so much they drive 60min+ one way to work here and I’d drive double that to continue being treated by them.

Fantastic practice! I'm terrified of the dentist and was half an hour late to my first appointment, but everyone was so patient, understanding, and friendly. Dr. Staehling is the most thorough dentist I've ever had, and he quickly identified a what is causing a concern I had.

Super impressed and won't be afraid for next visit, thank you all so much. Also like the TVs for distraction during the cleaning :)

Lynn always goes above and beyond to schedule our appointments in a way that minimizes inconvenience for our family. She ensures excellent communication, even over text, which helps us coordinate effectively. Jessica, Elizabeth, and all the hygienists are remarkably professional and knowledgeable.

If you, like me, suffer from dental anxiety, Dr. Staehling and his team are perfect! When I first came to them, I was playing catch-up on a decade's worth of dental care. They were with me every step of the way, explaining what needed doing and why it was important, and worked to get my mouth fixed with minimal discomfort (for both my mouth and my wallet).

They're extremely careful and communicative, and while a certain amount of discomfort is pretty much inevitable in dentistry, I always felt like I could ask them to stop at any time if I needed a break. Plus, Dr. Staehling and his team are just plain friendly!
