Do Not go this place. They reached out to me threading to send me to collections for a missed appointment 2 years ago. They had the nerve to say I didn’t confirm an appointment but still charge me a fee. After my initial service I decided to use another dentist in silver spring Maryland. I had a much better experience. I don’t understand how these people have the nerve to email and threaten with collections for an appointment she says I didn’t confirm.
This place is racket. They shakedown patients. I spoke to someone called Pat at SmileHQ. Run. You will be sent a bill 2 years later. I don’t even know how this is legal

X-rays and evaluation was very fast, and efficient. They did a great job! Didn't get work done yet. But everything from making the appointment to getting in was fast. If over 300 they need 30% down and the rest on the day of treatment

Let me phrase this my saying that this office has amazing staff and everyone I spoke to apart from the Doctor was extremely kind and caring. I came in for a consultation for treatment coming in with a few questions before I commit to paying anything. I am careful about my money and refuse to accept a payment plan before I’ve even met the Doctor. Coming into the office, the staff were very kind and I sat down to wait. I came in an hour early since my commute to the office is around forty minutes by bus. Within a couple minutes of arriving an hour early, I was ready to be seen. The process of having my pictures taken was smooth. Afterwards a member of the staff comes in regarding payment plans, and while she was kind in laying out information I made it very clear that I am just here for a consultation. Given the almost $6,650 for braces, with a $500 down payment, I was not exactly willing to fish out money before I’ve even seen the Doctor. After all, I want to know who I am working with before I spend that sort of money. This was the beginning of a disappointing interaction with the Doctor. Since I wasn’t fully committed to payment, perhaps I wasn’t seen as a worthwhile patient anymore. But I had hope that maybe speaking with the doctor could change my mind about the price tag. Nope! After waiting for a bit the Doctor comes in, just asking me what questions I have.
She doesn’t provide me with ANY information about what treatment would look like, what maintenance typically looks like, any other options (i. e. Invisalign) that might work for me (or even, why they might not work for me). NOTHING! She rushed in just asking me what questions I had. I came prepared with a few, with every answer being on varying degrees of dismissive or unprofessional. I asked about my overbite and whether braces treatment could help. My response: “Well, it could help. ” I asked about my jaw clicking, and whether braces could be useful (considering I have the aforementioned overbite). My response: “You should find a TMJ specialist online. I’m not an expert on this. ” After asking my 5ish questions, all the Doctor could say was “You need braces. ” As if I didn’t know that. If she was trying to sell me almost $7,000 worth of treatment, I’d like to know a bit more information rather than what I am pretty sure I know (otherwise, why would I be at an orthodontist in the first place?) To put this in perspective, my talk with the doctor was around 3 minutes. The person who I am supposed to spend thousands of dollars on, the individual who I am support trust my dental health on, barely spent any time talking to me about my options.
To be honest I felt like she was trying to kick me out to see another patient as soon as possible. I had no issues in waiting, I made it clear at the front desk when I came in early. I am more than positive that my talk with the doctor could’ve been better if I agreed to paying for treatment. If I became a paying customer I would’ve been treated with basic respect by the Doctor, and perhaps had a conversation longer than 3 minutes with her. Why offer a free consultation if I barely consulted with her? As soon as I finished my last short question she looked at me and said that I’m ready to leave. Coming to the front desk the Doctor rushed into the next room, leaving me and the front desk confused on next steps. The unprofessionalism from the Doctor was again on display when the front desk individual kept on trying to get an understanding of what she should do with me. The Doctor kept on quickly insisting I just need to schedule an appointment for treatment next. Obviously I left without making that appointment. If the Doctor was trying to convince me to be a patient, she failed. I’ve found more orthodontists in the area so I’m hoping they speak with me for more than 3 minutes and give me genuinely good advice. The one star is for the staff. Be aware if you’re a new patient!
