I am a 45 year old female who has a severe phobia of the Dentist. Gaston Dental Associates made sure that I was well taken care of. This staff eased my phobia and now I am no longer afraid of the dentist.

The Dr and nurse working on my teeth talked about politics the entire time. How the president at the time was a communist and then used the wrong definition for communism. They did my cleaning in an open room surrounded by others and with doors open to rooms when doing fillings so you could see other patients. I have to take my children to a dentist and this place was recommended.
I refuse to take my children here and have not returned since that day several years ago. Unprofessional.

I took my kids here and found most of the people very rude I find it awful that after 6 parents can't go back with their children and only 1 parent for a family. I got to go back do to my kids being little and watched 13 ppl come and go all needing at least 3 teeth worked on. Out of my 2 kids they needed 11 things done and some teeth pulled (on toddlers) I called my old dentist and he agreed to see me and give me his opinion and yes 1 of my kids did have a cavity but nothing else.
I also researched the dentist and it he was part of the medicaid scam in charlotte a few years back I'm not sure there maybe a dentist with the same name but please be cautious when finding a dentist.

PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS DENTAL OFFICE with your children!!! My grandchild was scheduled for three extractions and another simple procedure after having a routine examination and cleaning. I entrusted her well-being and pain management to people that I believed were qualified not just "certified" to execute her dental plan. I briefly discussed the plan, to which I had consented, and then proceeded to the lobby. I was NOT allowed to accompany her. As they dissappeared out of sight, I could not have guessed that when I saw her again she would be distraught, crying uncontrollably and traumatized. I was flabbergasted, horrified at the way she was behaving since this was not her first extraction at this office. I asked her why she crying so profusely. She stated very tearfully, "I'm hurting. " The dental assistant shut the door and nonchantly stated, "we pulled another tooth that wasn't in her dental plan and I need you to sign this paper. I stared at her and then focused on my grandchild. My grandchild is nine years old and was very uncomfortable with telling me the details while the assistant was present. Upon leaaving, the horrific account began to unravel.
With a tears streaming down her face she stated, "maw-maw, it hurt the entire time. I told them and they said,"oh, you will be ok" dismissing what she had communicated to them. She said the assistant held her down, (arms and legs) because the pain was so bad that she was kicking her legs. I had asked the assistant to inform me if there were any problems, changes or if she seemed afraid. She stated,"I will come and get you. " NOT once was I informed of her condition, or the additional dental work. They took the liberty to make decisions regarding my grandchild that was solely my responsibility. I then called and spoke with the OFFICE MANAGER, who is rude and unprofessional. She implied that my grandchild was exaggeration and that there was no way she could feel and pain. I asked her if she was present for the procedure and she stated no and proceeded to tell me that the dentist reads the gestures and body language of patients when deciding if medication is necessary. I asked her if crying uncontrollably wasn't a sign of pain or discomfort. She said I believe the Dr.
and I don't know why she's making these claim. (They failed to manage my grandchild's pain). Having to hold her down should have been indication enough to proceed with caution and ask some questions. . . to effectively manage her pain. The office manager is the most unqualifed, unprofessional inconsiderate person that I have encounter in any business setting. For either she is totally oblivious to what is happening or she most assuredly is a major facilitator to the torture of innocent children. I am miserable at the thought, that indubitably, too many more children will suffer the same experience if something doesn't change. PLEASE BEWARE!!!!
