During my first visit to this dental office today, I experienced several unsatisfactory aspects of the service. I had scheduled a teeth cleaning and filling appointment, but I was rushed through the process. The staff, particularly a young female assistant, exhibited a condescending attitude throughout the visit. During the filling procedure, Dr. Lee and her assistant repeatedly instructed me not to move my tongue, despite my minimal tongue movement. This instruction was unnecessary and potentially hazardous, as it prevented me from swallowing effectively.

Furthermore, during the bonding procedure, I was rushed to bite on a plastic film. My mouth was severely dry due to the prolonged open position, and without wetting my left cheek with my tongue before biting, I would’ve bitten it. I had to firmly request a pause due to the pressure of the rush. After the procedure, the assistant attempted to justify the rush, asserting that they were not intentionally hurried. However, I insisted that I needed to lick my cheek to prevent biting it. She dismissed my concerns, claiming that I lacked understanding and could not discern discomfort.

I find it concerning that a dental professional would dismiss my concerns and treat me as if I am incapable of self-awareness. Dentists and doctors have a responsibility to prioritize their patients’ comfort and well-being. They should demonstrate empathy, listen attentively to their patients’ concerns, and avoid condescending behavior.

I was a grown man who was horribly afraid of dentists.... but Dr Lee and Jackie have been excellent at relaxing me, as well as gently dealing with not just my fear of dealing with my teeth, but also very successful in improving my dental health... Friendly staff, nice environment and I have finally found a dentist I can work with long term. Thank you again and again.
