Had a cleaning at River North Dental Group last year, and it was such a bad experience it turned me off of dentists in general. I went in for a standard cleaning and Dr. Jatoi told me that my gums were receding and I needed to get a resin treatment. I had never had a dentist tell me this before, but Dr. Jatoi insisted I needed the treatment.

I wish I had trusted my gut but decided to listen to the healthcare expert. Ended up costing me $600 (even after insurance coverage), and I left questioning if I was scammed. The dentist group pushed services so hard, and the experience almost felt ~slimmy~. I left feeling like I couldn't trust my dentist. I went to a different dentist group in River North this week, and wow it was a night and day experience that I had to come back and retroactively write a review.

The dentist today told me my gums were no in fact receding, and they'd monitor for any future watch outs, but that I was overall low risk. The new dentist group assured me that my teeth/gums were normal and nothing to be alarmed about. Turns out the experience at River North Dental Group is not the norm, and not all dentists are terrible!!

Pretty standard dental office. I have been seeing Dr Diaz for about 2-3 years. She does a great cleaning. Super bubbly and nice. The front staff is usually really nice. The techs are overall good. The space could use a little paint job, but other than that, its totally fine. The most important is that it is close to me. The one thing that I hate is no online scheduling.

. . you can confirm, but cant schedule. . . boo to having to call on the phone to talk to someone. . . ha!

The receptionist is rude and lazy. She can't handle a customer service job in person or on phone. Never had a problem with the doctor been going here for a while. Switched my insurance and I still wanted to keep my dentist. However the middle man at this location, first introduction matters. I can't even get my foot in the door without being disappointed first.

I pay to park just for a dentist visit that I think is worth it but I refuse to deal with the receptionist. I'm changing my dentist! Other than that the location is really nice. I don't like to be in a office full and it's hardly ever. Quick service. Great cleaning.

I came to River North Dental Group for a standard cleaning. I really liked the employees, including the front-desk employees, my hygienist, and the doctor. They were a genuinely positive group. The hygienist was sensitive to my needs as she conducted the cleaning. I also liked the office aesthetic, a nice calm green instead of sterile white.

Everything from making an appointment to the payment process was nice and easy. My wait time was less than five minutes for a mid-day appointment. I also liked that the doctor discussed some options with me for improving my smile (at my request), but was not pushy about anything, and took into consideration my budget.
