I had an amazing experience. I went in for a root canal. I had previously visited a dentist. She was unable to do it since it was a complex tooth (one with two roots), and she did not trust herself to handle it, thus I completely appreciate her recommendation for a professional. Dr. Mickens saw it and recognized that it may be difficult it, but stated it would be fine. He's quite calm and reassuring. The personnel, from the receptionist to the hygienist, were very welcoming.
The procedure went nicely. Everything was taken care of. I appreciate that Dr. Mickens calls to check on the patient. That's quite rare. That demonstrates real concern for the well-being of the patients. I highly recommend!

Second time seeing Dr. Mickens, to be honest the mixed reviews made me weary. He was such a great choice. His reviews don’t do him justice!! Prior route canal done before moving to this state. He’s a great option. He’s caring & passionate about his patients. His staff is very professional. 10/10 recommendation. Make your own choice & give him a try. His office was sooo worth it.

In general the staff and everyone seemed nice and knew what they were doing ( It’s always nice when the Dr has a nice assistant). I of course had terrible anxiety the entire procedure. At one point I did have to have them take the mouth opener thing to set my jaw back right, because the device was pushing my jaw left so hard that it locked it there ( due to my canal being in my left bottom molar, which is as far left as can be).
He knew what to do to set it back right ( was painful setting it back, but that’s to be expected). Overall was fine, just know that you may have to wait for a good bit if there was another patient before you. One thing I will say about the other bad reviews is that the dentist isn’t going to know something’s off or painful unless you tell them ( which they tell you to do).
I told him about the jaw thing, he took out the device, and knew exactly how to correct it and the pain was completely fine after. After the numbing waiting period it really only took what felt like 30 mins or less.

Wonderful Endodontist my daughter needed a root canal on a molar tooth she is nervous and the patience level of the dentist and his assistant was amazing. I could have not asked for a better dentist. He is also very friendly and professional. I do want to brag about his front desk staff Marie she is super amazing. And she does everything upfront by herself and efficiently. Usually going into dental offices their staff is a little stiff.
She told me to bring headphones for my daughter and explained my insurance and copay in detail. I even got like $10 refund. She did like a little dance at the end to celebrate my daughter doing so well and I love how she jokes and laughes with the doctor their bond is amazing seems like. I wish this office was a regular dentist and not a specialist I definitely would have switched offices. I highly recommend him to any
