Neighborhood Health Center

Neighborhood Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that operates multiple clinic locations in and around Buffalo, New York. The Northwest location, at 155 Lawn Ave, is one of its original sites. The organization was founded in 1987 as the Northwest Buffalo community health Care Center by community members who saw a need for affordable healthcare in the Riverside/Black Rock area. It initially offered internal medicine, OB-GYN, and pediatrics. Over the years, the organization has grown and expanded its services to include a wider range of care, such as dental services (1988), behavioral health (2009), and pharmacy services. In 2011, the name was officially changed to Neighborhood Health Center to reflect its growth beyond its original single location. Neighborhood Health Center is committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and affordable healthcare to all, with a special focus on the medically under-insured, uninsured, and those experiencing homelessness. They offer a sliding fee scale for patients without insurance or who are underinsured, based on income and household size. The Northwest location offers a wide array of primary services, including family and community medicine, pediatrics, OB-GYN, general dentistry, and podiatry. They also provide various support services, such as social work, nutritional counseling, and health insurance information and counseling. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, it receives federal funding and has a mission to serve the community through patient-centered healthcare.
