I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office. I called to reschedule my appointment several days in advance due to a change in my insurance, and was shocked to be told that I wouldn’t be allowed to make a new appointment at all — just because I had rescheduled. That alone felt unnecessarily strict and unreasonable. What made it worse was how Tracy handled the situation.

She was extremely snobby and condescending over the phone, and made a point of emphasizing that I couldn’t schedule any future appointments because I hadn’t filled out a form requiring information from my new insurance — information she already knew I didn’t have yet, because we had just discussed the insurance change. It felt like she was looking for reasons to be dismissive rather than helpful. The entire interaction gave off a pretentious, unwelcoming vibe. I’ve never been treated so poorly by a dental office, and I’ll be taking my care elsewhere.

Patients deserve respect and understanding, not judgment and inflexibility.

It doesn’t get better than Mill City Dental. It feels like a unicorn place where the hygienists are kind, patient and thorough and Dr. Jay is everything you’d want from a provider- personalized, shares options for treatment with rationales, and gives high quality care.

Tracy at the front desk is extremely helpful with scheduling. To add to these accolades, it’s one of my kids’ favorite places! They’re always treated with respect and everyone goes out of their way to make the experience fun and not scary. We’re so happy this gem is in our neighborhood!

I have not found a service provider that goes to the high level of sensitivity, care, and accommodation for their clients. If you have had inconsistent dental care, trauma from dental experiences or I general, have conditions that make engagements like this difficult or uncomfortable; I would recommend this as a safe space to try. I have been able to have open dialog, was listened to and heard, and accommodated so everyone was able to feel safe and comfortable. I have built trust and have found a dentist and practice I can stick with for a long time now that I have relocated back to MN.

For anyone, Dr. Jay and his team are an excellent choice. Highly recommend.
