If I could post 100 ZERO STARS I would! I have NEVER been to a “pediatric office” a “for kids” place, and the staff (besides the ones directly working on/with the kids) be so rude, unhelpful, and just flat out mean. They have so much miscommunication with the phone staff that when it trickles down the line, you’re at fault instead of them just trying to solve the actual problem or fix their mistake. I won’t disclose the others on my post, but more than 10 people contacted me with the same problem or frustration.
Needless to say after over a year and a half of bad communication and bad bedside manner today, I am happy to have even more wonderful recommendations from anywhere but here! Unfortunately, came to Grand Haven in hopes of receiving better care…. We will happily take ourselves back to Muskegon to not deal with people like that. For a town who tries to act extra white and classy, their office personal demonstrates everything but! Unless you are white and live in grand Haven, they definitely won’t service you to the best of their abilities.
Over 17 comments with the same issues. I would never recommend this office to anyone even if it were the last available!

I have mixed feelings about my experiences with Little Smiles. The Hygienists have always made my kids feel comfortable getting their teeth cleaned. The actual Dr. 's have struggled a bit more with bedside manner and understanding that there might be times it would be beneficial to talk to a parent without the child nearby. My kids hear everything and hearing a Dr. talk about them without including them in the conversation and for my child with dental work needs it has triggered significant anxiety about going to the dentist.
While I think the office does an okay job with basic cleanings and giving kids a good first experience at a dentist office if your child has any issues with their teeth I don't think I can recommend this office. In addition the call center staff have dropped the ball every time I have called with something other than scheduling the next appointment. I have had only one good experience with the call center and I want to give Andrew a huge shout out for his professionalism. My other experiences include being told I would be called back to get scheduled and never getting a call back and having to follow up three times which led to increased difficulty with a procedure for my child and also being asked to wait on hold and being put on hold for over 30 minutes until I hung up and called back (and got Andrew who helped me in less than 5 minutes). Again the Hygienists here are great. The Dr.
I have worked with has been okay. The call center staff have been abysmal (excepting Andrew). The people who work the desk in the office have also been wonderful. I will be looking for alternative options for my child who has dental issues because it's just too difficult to coordinate with this office. For my kids who don't have as complex needs it's a fine office and I'll probably keep bringing them here.

I would give this negative stars if I could. I was there with my 6 and 4 year old who had back to back appointments. They called in my 6 year old and when my 4 year old and I got up with her to go in, they told me that only one person could accompany her in. This made no sense at our last appointment we all went in. She told me it was a new policy. I said I couldn’t leave my 4 year old so we all needed to go in - they were adamant and my 6 year old being sweet and brave said she could go by herself. So they took her back and 10-15 min or so later they called back my 4 year old and I was expecting to see my 6 year old in one of their multi seat pediatric rooms, but I didn’t…. They lead me to the back to a single seated room, I helped my 4 year old get situated and up walks the dentist saying “we have a problem mom” and my heart just sunk. It was my 6 year old two rooms down the hall, door shut, no one could hear her screaming and crying… they said she had been hysterical for a ‘while’ and were trying to calm her down. I walked into her room and I swear if she could have climbed into my skin she would have. Her face was red, her eyes puffy and her shirt was wet with tears.
I asked what happened and the hygienist (this was not our normal hygienist) went to close the door and I told her no leave it open. She told me it was policy to close the door and once again I told her to leave it open because my 4 year old was out there and I wanted to be able to hear her if she needed me, I didn’t care about privacy policies - I care about my kids, no one else was in that area, but us. I asked my daughter what happened and through her sobs she told me they put a mask on her face and it made her scared like before. I asked her “before like what?” And she said like with her arm. Well my daughter just had a procedure on her arm to remove a cyst. They had to use nitrous and it was scary, I was there to hold her hand and help her through it during that procedure, where they cut her arm and gave her stitches. It was scary and obviously the dentist was bringing all those scary feelings back. I was so incredibly upset that no one came to get me. That no one asked my permission to give my 6 year old nitrous. That the hygienist tried to act like nothing was wrong, that she was ‘trying to build trust’. That they tried to make her to wear the mask, not once, but multiple times while she telling them it’s scary and crying…and the hygienist is telling me it’s all ok.
BS IT’S NOT OK!!!! No where did I give consent to give my minor child nitrous. In the waiver it says that the dentist MAY RECOMMEND nitrous…no one recommended anything, no one talked to me, came to get me, asked me, texted me or called me. We checked out and left. I did not receive any paperwork leaving the office, which seemed odd. I got my girls out, loaded them into the car and walked back in and asked for a copy of all my paperwork from that appointment. My husband sent me the text waivers he signed and again nothing stated we approved nitrous. From what I understand this is illegal. I am wildly disappointed, sad and upset about how this was handled. I will NEVER go back! As a momma with a big heart who cares deeply for her kids and others please find another dentist for your kiddos.

PLEASE READ. We went to Little Smiles to get an issue fixed for our child that they caused 2 years ago. For 2 years we’ve gone to several dentists and NO ONE will touch their teeth and every single one has said you need to go back to Little Smiles because they NEED to fix it. We’ve been trying to get them in and each time they have done nothing.
Today my husband brought our child in and got yelled at by the dentist for telling her that we were ONLY fixing the issues that were done at Little Smiles and the rest of his dental work would be completed at our trusted dentist. My husband was berated and belittle and told he was unethical and unfair to them for not allowing them to do all the work they wanted to do. This is your warning that the dentists are HORRIBLE and truly unethical. They don’t stand behind their work because as she put it “they don’t work here anymore and I do things differently.
” DO NOT entrust these dentist with your children’s teeth. We made a horrible mistake taking our 4 year old here 2 years ago, as he now suffers with mistakes made by Little Smiles.
