Its far for me to travel but I have Geisinger so… The hygienist was great in dealing with my PTSD. All the staff and dentist were super nice each cleaning and filling visit. No issues with scheduling or rescheduling my appointments. I had to cancel about a week ahead and they weren’t mad about it. Worth the distance to feel respected and safe for me.

Update as of 09/25/23: After this horrible incident, I called Perfect Smile based off of what a coworker told me about how they were with her extraction. My first initial appointment was at the beginning of this month and I let them know about how severe my anxiety is. We agreed to do my Extractions separately for my anxiety, as well as upping my anxiety medication dose to deal with it while they did their work. Today, I went in for my first exaction, my anxiety medication already working on me. I listened to the dentist instructions, as he explained what he needed from me, his dental assistant warning me of any pressure or pulling I would feel. The whole ordeal, from the numbing to the actual extraction of my tooth was less than 10 minutes. I came back here to prove the point that I was not a "risk" according to the unprofessional dentist who saw me here since I can have extractions happen while I'm awake, so long as the RIGHT people know what they're doing. I also came back to say that if anyone needs a place to go that shows compassion for people with anxiety, I recommend Perfect Smile.
Original: I don't know who else I had to tell or explain that I have severe anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. I explained to both the assistant and the dentist who was supposed to do my extractions this morning about how severe it was. I cried on my initial visit because I was so stressed out about it. Today, I was supposed to have extractions done and all I wanted was things to be explained to me as we did it. I have had a tooth extracted before while awake and the oral surgeon who did it is no longer practicing or I would have gone to him because he knew how to handle severe anxiety well. Instead of being soothing or trying to calm my nerves, the oral surgeon ended up rolling his eyes at me and offered for me to go somewhere else where I can be put under. I said I didn't want to wait too long to have the teeth removed but asked how long I would have to wait if I did do that. He looked over at the assistant and said to see about scheduling me for that before leaving the room and not returning.
When the assistant came back, I asked if the places she called were in Altoona, they were not. I explained that I couldn't travel somewhere else to be put under because I would have no way to or from, and that I would rather try to get this done today so I wouldn't have to worry anymore and that I just wanted them to work with me through my anxiety. She said that he was refusing to do the removal now because of my anxiety. He also refused to come back into the room to even talk to me himself, but she did try to ask him if he would be willing to do the extractions. So now I have to wait to find another dentist to go to while two teeth are rotting in my head and increasing my risk of infection because they don't know how to deal with anyone with anxiety and instead would prefer to make them someone else's problem because they lack the patience and professionalism to do it.

Got routine teeth cleaning and wasn’t pleased with the outcome. Scheduled months ahead of time for cleaning but was told not able to be cleaned the same day because they were busy. After another month or two of waiting for the actual cleaning, the whole process took less than 15 minutes (don’t seem like they gave much effort or care).
Have a whole chunk of cleaning paste stuck in between the teeth leaving the office. Personally wouldn’t recommend, especially when it cost more than other locations.
