Went to take my step-daughter to have her teeth cleaned and Dr. Shaffer came into the room and asked myself and my other daughter to leave d/t making her patient uncomfortable which is my daughter. They were not child friendly, did not help ease anxiety for younger patients. I went to leave the room with my daughter and she came back and tried to grab my daughters arm to take her out of the room.
Very unprofessional, poor communication skills, poor atmosphere, outdated equipment. Would NOT recommend this office.

My whole family used Dr. Shaffer for years before we had to move for my husband's work. She and her staff were comforting, professional, highly capable, and honest. In addition to general dentistry, she was also able to help straighten my husband's teeth with a retainer. My kids loved Lisa, although everyone in the office was really kind.
We miss Dr. Shaffer's practice and wish everyone the best. I highly recommend her.

Don't listen to her if she says you have nodules on your thyroid. She told me she diagnoses a handful of people per month with that. She has no idea what she's doing. My ENT told me it was ridiculous that someone would give exact sizes and location like she did. And she was way off. I did not have nodules on my thyroid at all. She also does not tell you that they are normally harmless and benign.
She will tell you you either have stomach cancer or thyroid cancer. I think she just likes to read off those locations and sizes to impress her staff in her office. Clearly she is not qualified to diagnose nodules on your thyroid. She should stop doing that. You can take her to small claims court to get your money back for your medical expenses. And you can file a complaint with the dental board.

Dr. Shaffer works solo and is an OK dentist in my experience. But she cannot retain staff as indicated by the constant turn-over of hygienists and dental assistants. The impact on me has been delays of cleaning, last minute schedule changes and interminable waits in her office for my turn. Today, I found out the reason for the large turn-over. I objected to waiting for 30 min as she was chit chatting w her staff and patients. Dr Shaffer blew up and said "we are done here.
" She kicked me out while I am suffering from a gum abscess. That is "unprofessional" and "uncaring" as a number of other reviewers have indicated. She could have treated me and then kick me out. Her ego is more important to her than her oath to care for patients. AVOID this practice as there are many excellent dental practices in the area.
