We came to Innovative Dental Professionals for a third consult for our daughters. Both daughters had extreme overbites and spacing issues. Our oldest was nine at the time. We met Dr. Napolitano and after X-rays and evaluation we really liked his holistic approach working with facial characteristics and proper bite. His philosophy it to start treatment in widening and expanding the jaw while taking advantage of natural growth leading up to and through puberty.

The results of our oldest daughter was amazing and we remain impressed with the treatment of our youngest. The staff is friendly and caring. I have started going there for my dental needs and have loved all my hygienists. I see Donna and she is thorough and passionate about her work. We highly recommend here for all your dental needs.

You may want to consider a different doctor if you have a teenage daughter. While Wendy is very kind, and Dr Napolitano has decades of experience, we will not be coming back to them. We originally came to them for braces for our eldest daughter. After looking at her X-rays, Dr. N said he recommended a growth appliance, which would help fix an issue she had with a narrow airway (she has always suspected she has a harder time breathing during physical activity). Unfortunately this appliance is not covered by insurance, but it seemed like he was the only one around who offered this. When we asked if it was the same as an expander he said no. At the couple consults we had, the appointments were very long - 1 hour to 90 minutes. I figured he might do this with all patients to show care for them, and expected actual treatment appointments to be shorter. She also had a tooth that needed to be extracted.

So before starting the braces/expansion treatment, we scheduled an appointment for both the extraction and scanning her mouth to size for the growth appliance. They said it would take about 2 hours for everything. I settled in at a nearby Starbucks to work, and she was done within 30 minutes. Turns out they didn't do the scan. I still don't understand why. So we scheduled another appointment for the scans. It sounded like a quick (30 min max) appointment, so our daughter, who recently got her license, went on her own since her dad and I were occupied with the other kids. She was there for 2 hours!! 30 minutes in the waiting room, 10 in the treatment room before he came in. When he did come in, she said he explained everything he'd told us twice already, about her trachea and tongue and why she needs the appliance. He left to prep for the scans and my daughter turned her phone off since the battery was low.

He didn't return. Wendy, at the front desk, came in awhile later and asked, "are you still here?" And had to go find the Dr. Because he has repeated the same stories about our daughters scans and his own experience, and seemed to forget what he was supposed to be doing, I'm concerned he may not be in the right mind to provide treatment. But the kicker was what he has said to her every time we've seen him. He's made comments about her perfect profile and lips, comments that made both my daughter and I feel uncomfortable. For example, "when I miss you I'll just look at this scan and talk to it like it's you. " Or inviting to calling him after hours. I don't share this lightly, as I understand he is from a different generation, probably lonely in his old age, and I made excuses that he's probably just a sweet old man. This last one went over the line, both because of concerns about his competency and his inappropriate comments.
