I came in because I needed a crown done. It has taken over 7+ months for them to do it and they still haven't finished it. Don't even get me started on the insane amount of appointments it takes for them to do their work. I had 3+ appointments where they basically screwed around and didn't even do any work. They don't provide ANY billing statements and when you DO get one, there's a bunch of BS charges that weren't in the original quote.

They charged me $125 for anesthesia and they missed both of my veins and STILL charged me for it. For the billing side, they quoted me at around $2k for both crown lengthening and a permanent crown. Now they're saying that it's going to be more! When asked if they had a care plan, they said yes. When it came to actually paying, they said there was no such plan and that I'd have to pay at least $500 before they would see me for my next appointment. The students do a good job and everything is checked by the professors but my God, it takes FOREVER! For a simple cleaning, it took them over 3 hours! I've been running back and forth trying to get my crown done and every single time I go, it takes me from 9am-4pm for them to finish their work! Do not come here if you are expecting timely work or you have a cavity that needs filling.

The endo department is completely backed up and it'll take 2+ months for you to get in. I seriously hate this place and how much time and money I've wasted. The Dental school doesn't care, they just want money. I HIGHLY recommend to stay away and just go to a regular dentist that doesn't yank you around.

I had a horrible experience. The gal was really nice as a person but should not be a dentist. I was already afraid and she had no clue what she was doing. I told the school then that they were making a mistake to let her.work on patients. Scared the hell out of me. She hurt me and she was so rough. I am not sure if I can ever go back to a dentist. Bad Experience.

Extremely unsatisfied with the school of dentistry. Before attending the school I went to a regular dentist. They said I had 5 cavities. Then, because of my finances, I went to the school. The grad-operative dentist said I had 3 cavities. It took him a year to fill 3 cavities. I kept my patience and was given another student. Another year goes by and this dentist told me I had 6 cavities.

Then their doctor/chief said, no, only 2 cavities. Huh? My student dentist was told to give me a prescription for florid toothpaste and she said they were going to watch the areas. Huh? So, I went to a regular dentist, who reported 6 cavities and the cavities were filled. I've tried to get my records from the school. That's impossible! So, I'm with a regular dentist now who has done more work on my teeth in two visits than what took the school done in 3 years. I'd don't recommend any one to go to the school.

The student providers are great. Some of the instructors are not. Dr. Shin is the least gentle person I’ve ever had poking around with sharp objects in my mouth in my 40 years. And his bedside manner is off putting. He tries so miserably to be “cool” and buddy buddy with everyone.

But it falls flat every time. If he was my private practice doctor I’d find a new clinic. If this place wasn’t so reasonable with price for those of us that don’t have dental insurance and if I didn’t like all my student providers so much I would not be returning. They should really think about replacing him.
