It was founded in 2007 by Dr. Alan Seth Hyden, a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. Dr. Hyden is a native of Prestonsburg and returned to his hometown after completing his dental and specialty training at the University of Louisville College of Dentistry and the University of Kentucky, respectively. He completed a General Practice Residency at the University of Kentucky in 2005 and his specialty training in pediatrics in 2007, serving as Chief Resident. The clinic is designed to offer a state-of-the-art facility providing the best possible care to children and adolescents in a friendly, relaxed, fun, and supportive environment for both children and parents. Their primary focus is on helping children achieve and maintain a healthy, beautiful smile into adulthood. Hyden Pediatric Dentistry offers a comprehensive range of services tailored for children, including routine oral health exams, Preventative dental care (prophylaxis, fluoride treatments, sealants), restorative dentistry (white fillings, stainless steel crowns, bonding, extractions), and cosmetic dentistry. They also provide Sedation Dentistry options such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and in-office IV sedation with a board-certified anesthesiologist for more complex cases. Dr. Seth also holds staff privileges at Highlands Regional Medical Center and ARH hospital in Hazard for outpatient dental surgeries. The clinic prioritizes patient comfort and safety, featuring digital radiography, intra-oral radiography, televisions in treatment rooms and the waiting area, and video games for children. The staff undergoes extensive yearly training in safety procedures, including CPR and OSHA training.
