Coming here has been the best experience I've ever had with a dentist they were truly comforting and help me with all my needs and questions from the moment I walked in the oral surgeon was so professional and kind and explained everything so well to me. They are really busy but they do their best to get you in and out. I know my oral surgeon was terrific and it was so quick and painless.
This is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone and I will definitely come back here for all my dental needs.

They never answer the phone, if you leave a message they will never get back to you. I needed my records to go to another dentist because I did not like my first time there, only the assistant of the doctor (female Dr) everything else was not pleasant at all. The schedule says they open at 8:45am and I went there at 9:30 on a Wednesday and they were closed!

This place is getting worse and worse. Horrible service and lack of responsibility and care for the patients. The person who handles insurance approvals for special procedures doesn't do her job. I've dealing with approvals and wasting my time waiting for them only to realize the person NEVER SENT my file. It happened 3 times. The physician has several personal issues and they keep postponing our appointments and when we finally have to see them the waiting time is 3 to 4 hours, only to realize there is no procedure to be done beacause of the insurance approval that never was sent. So what they do to cover the situation create a "re-evaluation" AGAIN.
The people who handles front desk no have other answer better than: "WE ARE NOT FORCING YOU TO BE HERE. " YOU CAN LOOK FOR ANOTHER DENTIST". . . those are not the appropriate answers. My insurance is about to expire at the end of this month and I lost a complete 10 months dealing with late appointments and insurance approval never sent.

I really try to see the good in everything and everyone, but I have to warn potential patients about Dr. Halkias. I have to say, making appointments was easy, and I never had to wait much at all. I came 14 months ago the first time for a cleaning & check-up. He did a good cleaning, but then advised to extract a wisdom tooth which has never bothered me despite cavity, and to shave down another tooth to put a crown on it! That tooth in particular had a large filling which had been carefully, tediously and expertly placed by 2 previous dentists, the last time only 3 weeks prior to the visit. That meant that we had all spent lots of time & money to save that tooth and ALL he wanted to do was destroy it (to place a crown, much of the healthy tooth would have to be shaved away). I opted out, and 6 months later went elsewhere for my check-up. They were very meticulous, went through every tooth and told me that the one with the large filling was still fine and they still wouldn't suggest a crown. . . they also said that the wisdom tooth may cause pain someday, but may also stay there for decades! It must be noted that crowns are not only expensive, irreversible (tooth is gone) but also often problematic to fit.
That basically meant that Dr. Halkias was possibly going to cause me more dental issues than he was helping. My suspicion was confirmed when I came back now, 14 months later, and Dr. Halkias and his blonde assistant were visibly disturbed by the fact that I had no pain and the same teeth in my mouth. In fact, he asked both times specifically about any other health! issues (he's not an internal medicine specialist, I don't think!) and tried to read other organ issues from the teeth. It's creepy, because there are already gangs of criminal medical stalkers in the NYC area after my records for years now. Meanwhile, this year, he didn't tell me a single word about any of the other teeth that he had X-ray'd (3x the same tooth because the blond Puerto Rican woman didn't get it right the first time!) except the one that he literally almost made a pass at until I shrieked. So I can only warn people about Halkias before they get their health and lives messed up in the name of dentistry. In addition, my dental insurance rep told me about a special cleaning (costs extra) which is healthier for the gums, and which I wanted to request. But neither time did Halkias even mention it, although he's complained about my gums, and I was too busy trying to defend my teeth to think of it myself. And I honestly felt like the Puerto Rican assistant and the Greek? dentist were very unhappy with the fact that I had no pain and was confident about having kept my teeth.
Figure that! Unbelievable! It confirms the suspicion that many health providers in the USA do not wish the patients health, but rather the opposite. Edit: I subsequently saw Dr. Nourbakhsh and he spoke to me about the rest of my teeth and oral health and was slightly more communicative, but it was the 3rd time I came within 3 weeks for the info I should have gotten the 1st time! I still had to dig to get answers on my periodontal status and bone density, which he didn't have ready even after he started by saying he had seen my X-rays, and which info they should have offered before recommending any invasive treatment. At least I got a prescription and a specialist referral. These are not competent dentists, they didn't apologize for wrong decisions, and the Puerto Rican assistant might as well be a member of the criminal Hispanic gangs in town. Drain the Swamp: send these creatures back to where they came from! It's disgusting to imagine what they would do to patients who don't have the medical background I do, and don't know how these crooks cover up for each other. Follow up: I was at a periodontist's office 3 weeks later for the gum treatment they claimed I didn't need, and was told it was lucky I came when I did, because many patients only get referred after several teeth are endangered! So apparently it's common here that dentists would rather extract teeth, lol. Omg! Beware.
