Dr. Swan had been my dentist for 10 years . I feel welcomed every time I come for a appt, the staff is great and does a great job. I have always been afraid of the dentist but I feel so comfortable when I come . I highly recommend his services . I moved an hour away and will continue to come to his office.

**To add additional insight- (as I see the owner reply is misleading) I took off work and drove 45 minutes back from DC to make my appointment on time. An accident on Rte 50 caused all lanes to be blocked. As I noticed the traffic stoppage and the eta change from the GPS, I called right away and notified the office that it looked like I would be running late. I gave an estimate of about 10 minutes via the GPS. They made no mention of any specific 10 minute grace period, (as they said they did in their reply) all they said was that it wouldn't be a problem. As I came to the realization that all lanes were closed, I noticed the eta continued to grow. I found an alternate route and spoke to the office a second time. I told them about the lane closures and told them I had found an alternate route and gave the new eta. Still I was told it was ok.

As I was 2 minutes away from the facility, they called me back and told me that they could not see me today. Even when I told them I was literally turning into the parking lot it made no difference. The lady that I had been speaking with sounded like she was taking instructions from someone else as she had to keep placing me on hold and picking back up to tell me they couldn't see me after initially telling me it wouldn't be a problem. I was extremely confused as I had kept in communication the entire way and they knew that the eta was going to go beyond the original anticipated 10 minutes. They waited until the last minute to call me and notify me of this after all the effort had been made to still get there. I also couldn't get a clear explanation as to why they wouldn't see me. What they say in their response was not what they told me in the office. The front Supervisor mentioned about the time (which was just about a 10 minute difference despite being caught in the accident and staying in communication with them the entire way) Then she mentioned something about not being able to find me based on the information I gave in my original phone call with them (which if that was the case, why not bring that up during the call?) The whole situation gave off the feel that there were things that they just did not want to do on that day at that time and they decided that it would be more convienient for them to reschedule me for a different day instead. So just elaborating on this situation for any interested because I understand policies but there is a thread of communication, respect, reasonableness and empathy that should tie together your policies with how you interact with your community.

When you don't show those things, it reflects bad on your business. This is my experience with your buisiness and I see that multiple reviews have echoed about the lack of empathy and poor communication. At some point, you’d have to entertain the possibility that it’s not everyone else- maybe it’s you. This is my experience…Maybe others have had different, but based on mine- I will not support you and I will encourage others I know in this community to deal with an office that has a better understanding of this dynamic with Patients. Original Review- “I would echo the statements on here about poor communication and in addition I would say the Front Office Staff are very unempathetic and uncaring when it comes to how they deal with patients. I would not recommend this Dentist office, take your business elsewhere. ”

Very happy! I was a late addition as our whole family has come here for years. . Dr. Swann is very good at what he does and has this relaxed demeanor which is calming.

Portia, the dental hygienist, did an amazing job of cleaning my teeth and providing guidance for caring for my teeth. The staff handling appointments are efficient and friendly, especially Jo. Highly recommended for your family.

I had been searching for a good dentist after my dentist of 35 years retired. I happened to run into my dentist after his retirement and told him I’d been having a hard time finding a good dentist. He referred me to Dr. William Swann in Bowie. I’ve been using Dr.

Swann for three years now and absolutely love the care that he took in my initial examine and then in follow up visits after the dental hygienist finishes cleaning my teeth. He’s professional, personable and engaging and patiently examined my teeth. I’m very happy to have found someone I fee have replaced my previous practice and dentists.
