I am writing this to warn others — especially families with Medicaid — about the unprofessional and discriminatory experience I had at Galaxy Dental. First of all, this clinic has repeatedly called me less than 24 hours before scheduled appointments (which I waited over a month for) to claim that my children’s Medicaid insurance was “inactive. ” However, my entire family is on the same active Medicaid plan. They claimed one child’s insurance was valid and another’s wasn’t — which makes no sense. It felt like an excuse to cancel our appointments and avoid treating Medicaid patients. When I politely asked them to notify me at least 72 hours in advance so I could resolve any potential issue with insurance, I was told, “That’s not our responsibility. ” A staff member even said bluntly: “We are not interested in clients with state insurance. ” That is discriminatory and unacceptable behavior, especially from a Medicaid-approved provider.

Additionally, the clinic constantly scheduled multiple unnecessary appointments instead of completing treatment in one visit — causing us extra stress, missed work, and more childcare and transportation challenges. It clearly felt like we were being taken advantage of because we are on Medicaid. To make matters worse, during one of my own visits, I was in pain and had a tooth X-rayed. Even after the X-ray, they couldn’t determine which tooth was the problem. They told me vaguely that a wisdom tooth “might” need to be pulled, but they weren’t sure if that was the source of the pain — and they gave me no clear treatment plan. I left confused, in pain, and completely unsupported. That level of diagnostic uncertainty is shocking and unprofessional. This clinic has consistently made me and my children feel unwelcome, disrespected, and underserved.

We are going through difficult times as a family, and the last thing we need is to be treated like second-class citizens because of the type of insurance we have. We have a right to professional, respectful healthcare — just like anyone else. If you are on Medicaid or care about receiving quality, ethical treatment, I strongly urge you to take your family elsewhere. I am filing formal complaints with the Department of Health, the Office for Civil Rights, and the Illinois Attorney General’s Civil Rights Bureau. No one deserves to be treated this way.

the worst dental clinic! they ruined all my child's teeth! they scared the child, they drilled his tooth without anesthesia, because of them my son is afraid of dentists! they are very rude to both children and adult patients, and they absolutely do not know how to do their job one star is even too much for them

I regret not having read the reviews about this clinic before my visit. We experienced everything that was written above about unprofessional and rude attitude towards patients. After filling milk teeth, each tooth was fluxed.

Do not injure your children and your mental health, bypass this clinic. The child got stress and fear of the dentist for a long time. The only positive thing about this clinic is the nurses who conduct dental hygiene
