Found him in network and went for an abcessed tooth as a new patient. My old dentist was not in network with Humana. Waited 2 hours, while receptionist sat on the phone (was the ONLY person waiting) She finally asked why I was there. Saw this "dentist" and he looked at the abcessed tooth and said he didn't do root canals but he would pull my tooth!!!! I was livid. I told them when I called the tooth was abcessed and I was in horrific pain. All he did was refer me on to someone else. This was the week of Thanksgiving!!! They wanted me to pay them right there!!! I told them to bill Humana and they did. The claim was denied because they called this a "limited exam". They refused to change the code after I called them and told them Humana said to bill it under a different code. They never resumitted it and I just received a bill from this "dentist" threatening to send this to collection so I called them again. They refused to change the code unless Humana called them. I called Humana and explained this was an emergency visit!! Humana put me on hold and called the dentist and they still won't change the code!!! I only went in for ONE ABCESSED TOOTH AND THE BEST HE COULD DO WAS PULL IT??? I am filing a grievance with Humana and also Medicare to get this $21.00 bill paid. I spent over $1,000 with my previous dentist to get in THAT DAY for a root canal and a crown. Why on earth this "dentist" would see an emergency abcess patient and then only offer to PULL THE TOOTH or refer you to someone else. No thank you. This 21.00 bill is not worth all the work I will have to do, but I will do it. This is not right, especially when the insurance company told them directly to bill it this way. He didn't do a full exam and didn't bill for a full exam. THIS WAS A DENTAL EMERGENCY FOR ONE ABCESSED TOOTH. In addition, his web site says he DOES ROOT CANALS. FALSE ADVERTISING
