Went here to have my retainer fixed took the day off work. It lasted about a week and broke on one side again. I tried to get back in and they couldn’t fit me in for about a month unless I took more time off work. Couldn’t even accommodate 20 minutes of time. Waste of money and time.
Going to a different ortho for half the price. Fill in Receptionist was also not very nice with working with me. .

I am a mother of a 12 year-old and work in health care. When initially approaching the orthodontic care of my son, I assumed the same patient-centered care that I experience in health care would extend to his orthodontic care as well. I was incorrect. My experience with Erickson-Aamodt Orthodontics in Apple Valley was purely a business transaction and money was clearly their priority. At our "free consultation" my son and I were taken to an exam room and a provider looked in his mouth for a few minutes. When we were escorted back to the waiting room, we were immediately given a price sheet for the cost of his care. I am not clear on if the Office Manager fulling out the price sheet even received any clinical information from the Orthodontist prior to filling out the price sheet. The staff was very nice and indicated they were able to do the imaging that day and that after that we would be given another appointment with the orthodontist to discuss the treatment plan.
I am unfamiliar with the orthodontic process and went ahead and had them do the imaging. At no point was I told there would be a fee for the imaging (even though it is clearly stated in their welcome letter that if they recommended imaging the fees would be discussed). After leaving the office, I thought about the process and questioned how they were able to give us the cost of his treatment prior to imaging and discussing treatment options. I then sought out a second opinion at a different Orthodontic office. My experience at this second office was very different. Everything was explained to us in detail. An exam and scan were done and then they discussed the issues with my son's teeth and gave us options for treatment. After our discussion they gave us the pricing.
They indicated they could have the xrays sent from our previous appointment with Erickson-Aamodt sent to them and discussed how the xrays would add to the information they needed for his care. When I called Erickson-Aamodt to have my son's records sent, they indicated it would cost $450. I am very displeased in how this business is run. I ended up having them run the cost of the imaging through my insurance. They then came up with the number $230. I paid this without question. At our second orthodontist office, when they heard I was charged, actually credited the $230 to the cost of his treatment with them.
